Great stuff just need to shut the rest of the ****e down now. Papers should have a license to run in this country that can be revoked at any time. We don't have a free press we never have had a free press and what's even worse is that most of it is a foreign owned press.

All the newspapers are just as bad though and you can't tell me it only happened in one paper under the charge of news international. If all the papers could have got away with it at the time they would have done, and most prob did. It wouldn't surprise me if some newspapers had people killed and raped just to generate news to sell papers.

Suggests James Murdoch already knows whose fault this is and thinks this is the best way to clean house without having to go through the process of actually naming and firing them individualy. Indeed, some of the press statements he's made does make me think he knows who is at fault, and that the police do too, but we're not being told as the police investigation is still ongoing.

They're clearly hoping to draw a line under it and avoid damaging their other brands. It'll probably work allthough a lot of the mud is sticking to Andy Coulsdon and the head of News Int. at the moment, they're still at risk.

Sunday's issue is going to cost ?24.95 to offset the lack of advertising, and will be eight pages long.

Good to hear, but I'm sure the empire will put out a new tabloid or just re-brand the paper in a months time.

It basically means that Murdoch comes out of this looking like he was acting for good. This will also do much to ensure the takeover of BSkyB goes ahead. Not good.

A lot of important people have already given pretty cynical reactions to it, Ken Clarke being the most notable.

The Guardian will certainly keep running with it and a whole lot more people will pay attention to them now.

They won't be able to get away with an empty gesture by the looks of it. That's not to say they couldn't launch The Sunday Sun a year or two from now though.
