Seems to have been a trap that Tom Watson walked right into. In being so aggressive he made it look like he was bullying an OAP.

They're doing a decent job of setting Rebecca Brooks up to take the fall. And I don't buy that Rupert is half as frail as he's coming across here.

Ed Miliband is so annoying. I hope he never gets to lead the country. I'd be so embarrassed letting other countries know that he's in charge of ours. He might have really good points to make but I just cannot see past all his annoyances.

And now some fool in the public gallery has decided to try and custard pie Rupert Murdoch in the face, which means all we'll see in the press tomorrow is pictures of that, regardless of what anyone else says now.

          Well done, idiot.

The MPs have done a superb job of portraying him as a confused old man mystified by the events going on around him. Not a great job of getting concrete details out of him or forcing him to admit uncomfortable truthes.

And on top of that he's been attacked in what should be one of the most secure places in the country. They're handing this to Fox News on a platter.

They're already running stories saying that the BBC and the Guardian are 'vicitmising' him, well, now they've got 'proof' we're just out to get him.

Shame it wasn't a grenade or a molotov.

I dont even see him making any good points either tbh. He repeats himself constantly despite trying to jumble the words around so you dont notice, has no real conviction in his words, talks thru his nose & is just using his opponents weaknesses in a childhood playground "neh neh, neh neh neh" way.

Yeah but comparing today to 17 or 18 years ago isn't necessarily representative, but more importantly than that, you follow Piers Morgan tweets!!

                      Oh gawd.

Anyway, I think the old fella settled into the questions, but that initial barrage had him on the back foot.

More likely it's that the BBC do, they're posted up other peoples tweets in their live text feed.

Yeah, I want to state now that I don't follow Piers Morgan, and will happily say as much in front of a parliamentary committee.

Jon Holmes retweeted it and I saw it that way.

Murdoch reminds me of one of those old nazi war criminals who are caught living it up in central America and then when they come to trial they appear old and frail and seemed to have forgotten exactly what they were up to between 1939 and 1945. He didn't seem so frail last week when he flying in too see Brooks and co. The man is scum as far as I am concerned adn I really wish the foam pie person hadn't ruined it for everyone by taking all the pressure off Murdoch.

Rebekah Brooks only remembers the parts of her career that were on Panorama.
