Nice, the new bike will have 180mm rotors to stop you quicker ?

I'm boosting my fitness a bit with off road 15miler bike rides from work on Fridays

Getting some upgrades along the way too, I have bought slx rear cassette so far

I have a little dilemma at the moment, about to buy a new bike and I can't decide whether I should be buying a hybrid or a road bike. I am not a heavy user and will just be using it mostly for to and from work.

My previous bike was just a raleigh ladies bike with a step through frame, but it's so heavy and thought it's time to upgrade. Was thinking about one of these two

      or

I am leaning more towards the hybrid to be honest, does anyone have any input ?

I am female, hence the "lady" bikes lol

Do you take any kind of bag to work? If so then do yourself a favour and use a bike pannier instead, in which case the hybrid is far more suited as the road bike probably doesn't have any eyelets for mounting a carrier.

Managed to get a ride in today before the heavens opened Brilliant ride. PB on my 5 minute hammertime trail even though some sections caught me off guard and I had to slow right down to check out the new features, plus I'm not bike fit, so the new bike is flattening the trail One bit that normally scares me senseless due to the braking bumps was easy, just firing over the top with a light touch of the brake and turned in. The problem now is that I have to be going a lot faster to get the same sensation of fear
            Would that be Kingley vale?

No, over at Whiteways / houghton / bury hill. Let me know if you want me to show you round. Super technical trails, with very tight twisty sections through dangerous tree stumps and narrow gaps where I was worried my new wide bars might not even fit. However, all easily rideable at slow speed. Not particularly steep anywhere up or down, but max speed was 35mph

Cool may be heading that way this weekend, friends have been telling me about some routes for a while.
That is if its not windy, windsurfing comes first this time of year

Dude, do both. Life's too short.

I'll be leaving here at 7.30ish on Saturday morning, so there will be plenty of time to do windsurfing later. I'll pick you up on the way assuming your bike will fit on a normal bike rack. Mine doesn't fit on due to massive chunky frame, so I have to lob it in the boot.

Actually it now looks like I'll be up there a bit later at around 9.3-10. My bro in law doesn't like earlys. Or hills

Bike shop figured out what was wrong with my back brake. There is a tiny leak on the brake line, so it was spitting tiny bits of fluid on to the air in the area and some was getting on the disc. Should all be sorted tomorrow.

Just bought a brand new 18 inch Cube Reaction GTC Pro 26 for ?1049.00!!! They are ?1349.00 but as i paid in full and bought extras with the bike like DMR Vault Pedals which i got for ?75 they gave me an excellent discount. I Rode it home from Tredz bikes in Cardiff up to Pontypool and was very happy with it. Extremely quick off the mark, nice handling, good on the climb (especially when the front suspension is locked out) but strangely it's even better on the descent. My only gripe with it is that with the current default seat (Selle Italia X1) it is excruciatingly uncomfortable and by the time i got back to Pontypool my arse was killing me I plan on getting a new gel flow saddle or something that is a hell of alot more comfortable than the Selle Italia X1. Total bike weight without the pedals comes to 11.3kg which comes in at just under 25 pounds. I will try and put some pics up next week.

I've got a standard bontrager saddle on my bike which is looking a little worn after only a year.

I'm thinking of trying a charge spoon, loads of people over on bike radar seem to like them.

They had them on wiggle for ?10 but I think the offer has ended.

Some photos of my new Cube Reaction GTC Pro:

I have boshed an old apollo seat on there for the time being as the other one was like sitting on a brick but i will get a new gel flow saddle tomorrow.

One thing i have noticed is when in either of the 2 hardest gears (big cog front, smallest sprocket back) or (big cog front, 2nd smallest sprocket back) i get a clicking sound whilst pedalling. When i stand up and pedal fast it doesn't seem to make a clicking sound when im bringing the left pedal down on the left side but when im bringing the right pedal down on the gears side i hear the clicking. If i change gears further up (3rd smallest sprocket back and up) the clicking noise stops Any ideas what that might be and how i go about sorting it?
