I have a very important question.

You know the one where they play paintball and PJ goes blind?

Does anyone know where that was filmed, or if it was a proper paintball place or anything? Or if they made up the name of a paintball place and what it was? I can't find information on Google.

I just read the thread title back and it's kind of misleading, isn't it? Sorry.

    There's more than one question.

Could you please add spoiler tags, I'm only halfway through that episode.

"During an illegal paintball contest between Byker Grove and Denton Burn, the cursed duo of Amanda Bewick and Debbie Dobson inadvertantly blind Peter Jenkins as revenge for trying to bed them both in a candle-filled cellar. The dramatic end to series 4 in 1992"

        Oh PJ you dirty bastard.

It was a bit traumatic as a child to see, "Wey-ay Duncan! I canna see!"

Credit where it's due, on Saturday Night Takeaway, you can't tell he's blind.

Don't forget that it was an illegal paintball match with Denton Burne, so it's not a recognised paintball venue.
That scene was burned into the memory of a generation.
Has anybody been paintballing where somebody hasn't mentioned the tragic accident that befell poor Peter Jenkins?
"He can't see, can he? HE CAN'T SEE MAN!" (Sobbing) "He can't see..."

When I lived in Sunderland, Spuggy used to work at River Island. Now she acts in Open University films. Is that any help?

This was the funniest Byker moment. "You're sick, man! You're sick! Sick!"

That's why, when you get blinded in a similar illegal paintball tragic accident because you took your protective goggles off, people will say:
"Why did he take his goggles off? Didn't he see Byker Grove, man?!"
"No he didn't, and now he never will. (sobs) He never will."

                        So very true!
Good times down the Grove and I bet you can all recall the theme tune easily like me.

You met Spuggy??? Wow. I always used to pronouce it, 'Spoogeeey', although it's hard to transcribe. I want to hear the theme tune now.

edit-toythatkills, how the hell did you watch Byker Grove? Repeats or something? I mean, it's quite old.

So in conclusion, nobody actually knows the answer?

I think I'm from the generation after this. I don't really know who PJ and Duncan are. I think the school based program was Grange Hill on TV when I was younger, but to be honest, I never watched it.

I do know Ant and Dec from SMTV Live though. Oh thems were the days....
