Good question, tough to answer. I'll take the question totally literally though and answer from a purely materialistic point of view.

    1. The PC I just built. It's fast, it runs every game maxed out really well and it's running MacOS X Lion. Everything I want from a computer. Also my latest material possession.
    2. My iPhone
    3. My Sony eBook reader. Its convenience and capacity mean that I actually read books again.

Tough question. I don't think I own anything really that I "couldn't imagine not having", but that said I do own things I would miss if they were gone!

I would say "the internet" but realise I don't own it , it's just something I couldn't imagine living without. I guess that is going to become more and more common as these days kids will have the internet from day 1, I must have had it from age 10 or so, but no broadband until at least 15. TBH I kind of hate the internet, I'd get so much more done if it didn't exist, but it is a very useful tool too.

But yes, my 3 items at this moment in time would be:
        • iPhone - as someone else said it is an excellent jack of all trades

        • Laptop - almost any time I am home and awake, the laptop will be on. In fact I use laptops so much that they only tend to last a year or two before completely falling apart! Left mouse button is going on my current one which is 18 months old...

        • AV receiver/surround speakers - only got this a week or so ago and every time I use it just reconfirms what a great purchase it was. Films sound brilliant and I can hook my iPhone up to it to listen to my music through the 5.1 speakers which is amazing, particularly for a d&b/trance listener!!

1: my golden era consoles [jp md, us snes, pc-e briefcase] as much as I could emulate them all on my mac, you can't beat the real deal, could never part with these, I would gladly get rid of every other gaming item I own [if I had to] but not these!

2: magazine/comic collections, they take up major space, but I've had my spidey comics since the late 70's plus my son reads them daily

3: a collection of items that where my grandfathers and where left to me when he passed away, a tiger engraved knife with leather scabbard, his shirt sleeve holders and his best snooker cue and case or Bessie as the lads used to call it when I took it to use for the pool team in the local

            1. This may seem clich? but any of my games or systems that ive collected for 35 years since ive been gaming, i think i'd be lost without any kind of system from the humble pong machine to the cureent generation, ive had had to pick 1 it would be my woody 2600.

            2. My 3 inch Tele Vue Refractor which has given me thousand of stunning views of the night sky.

            3. My Star Wars memorabilia collection, which can be anything from a lego bobba fett to figures , poster to the original VHS videos and old figures that a had as a child growing up when Star Wars launched.

              1. Breitling Emergency. I own a fair amount of expensive timepieces, and it's a hard decision between this and my Omega Speedmaster Reduced, but I think the Emergency wins out due to the contract I had to sign to purchase it. The contract basically states that if I ever pull out the antenna, and I'm not in distress, I'll be footing the bill for the helicopter rescue unit that they'll send to come and find me. It's been rather tempting at various stages of intoxification! Plus it's a yellow-faced version, which are rarer and more highly sought after than the others.
              2. My Sony "empire". This includes every Sony item I own. I've loved the brand since as far back as I can remember. I have some specialist items in there, which I'd never part with, ever.
              3. My Nike collection. I've been on various expeditions to far away places to secure certain pairs of Nikes. I have some that are almost as old as I am and have never even been tried on.
              Kept you waiting, huh?

First and foremost, my classes! I do so many classes in the week, I feel at a loss without them, doing my gym and studio classes mean so much to me these days... The benefits far out weigth the draw backs...

Secondly Id say my sumvision media player I can now watch ALL my movies on my big TV! No need for me to raide my DVD/Blu ray collection, its all in one place! Perfect for those tv series too

And finally, well I have not got it yet, but my Iphone 5, because it WILL store ALL my music when it is released... and I get to update my tired Ipod classic Plus it will allow me to surf the interwebs at a decent speed for once...

                  Post pix plz!

The only specialist Sony item I have is a BDP-S1. Since I'm authoring Blu-ray Discs now, I needed an old slow player... the fact that it was their first is incidental...

I can happily say at this point in my life I HAD some favourite items but I then realised slowly that If I dropped dead tomorrow, my wife would sell them all for money.
SO I thought instead of that pipe dream/nightmare that I would sell them for the money, which I am and reaping the benefits.

There are 3 items I do love, from a materialistic point of view.

                    1. Art of Silent Hill and Silent Hill: Lost Memories DVD's.
                    2. Travis 'All I Wanna Do Is Rock' 1996 Original 10" Vinyl, Red Telephone Box Label (band self funded the pressing 750 made)
                    3. Daredevil Volume 2 Issue 1 Authentix Comic (No.1/300) Sketch on cover pencilled by Joe Quesada and inked by Jimmy Palmiotti.

                      For me:

                      1. The binder that stores all the letters that my girlfriend and I sent each other during the early years when we were long distance. Vomit inducing I know.
                      2. University notes - irreplaceble.
                      3. My 2nd edition of the Talisman board game. So many good times with this, an absolute classic and I kept it in good condition.
