    Ebay limited my account for some strange reason - what now!?

    Howdy ya'll, hope this is the right place to put this, just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue.
    I've been buying and selling on eBay for ages but all of a sudden got this email:

    'Dear (MY username)

    Based on your account information and activity, it looks like user ID (---) is associated with your account. This usually indicates that both accounts belong to the same person.

    Because the other account is restricted or otherwise not meeting minimum seller standards, we've changed the amount you can list on eBay.

    You can now sell up to 10 items or up to ?450.00 per month, whichever comes first. After 90 days, we'll reassess your account and may increase your limits based on your selling performance. You can also increase your limits sooner by resolving any open issues with the associated account. We've already sent instructions for resolving these issues to the email address registered to that account.'

    The account in question - which I have dashed (--) out, is actualy my mother-in-laws! Which was deactivated back in March of this year! We don't live at the same address and have never bid up each others item etc. so wondering what the hell has happened?

    This ever happened to anyone else on here?

      Tell them they are owned by different people and send documents to prove it - thats what I had to do a while ago under similar but not identical circumstances.

        Nah her account wasn't hacked. Got in contact with the phone 'support' (ugh) and they had no idea. I got an email response today and they now say they are limiting ALL ebay accounts!? Can't believe this is true.

        @koopa - yeah I offered that and it seem to make no difference. No-one seems to be able to answer my question there and I just keep getting a stock response. As I say the woman on the support line could give me no reason as are accounts are not linked and she confirmed it!
