Do you know your land-line phone number?

This just popped up in my twitter feed, and actually made me curious. I can't poll it up, so if a mod sees this and has nothing to do, we need:

    Yes.
    No.
    My what?

Thanks! I have absolutely no idea what my number is, as I've never told anybody it. I just use my mobile for everything. I do have a phone, but despite the aforementioned fact of never telling anybody the number, as soon as I plug it in I get constant spam phonecalls. So yeah, I don't use it.

    Do you know yours?

Ha, what a 21st century problem.

I know mine. I hate using mobile phones for calls so I use mine almost every day. I can still remember my landline number from the 80s, too.

I know the one for my Scottish place, I have no idea what my London one is. (I've made two calls at most in the last two years on it!)

Nope. I know very few phone numbers now. I remember the number in the house I grew up in, I know my mobile and my work number and that's probably it. With contacts features in every phone now, I have had no need to remember any, including my home number.

          What an odd question.

          Yes I do.

In all honesty, if the question was "Do you know your mobile number" I'd have probably answered either just about or flat out no - I make a habit of getting the 07717 bit wrong, telling people 07747 by mistake.

Haha, now that you mention that, I can remember various land-line numbers from my childhood (260338 was one of them, though I can't remember at what address) but this one? Nope!

I will always use the landline in preference to mobile if I have it to hand. It's still cheaper isn't it? Therefore I know the number.

Nope. My landline exists purely for my ADSL. Mobile gets used for actually talking to people because I hardly ever speak on the phone these days.

Of course. I wouldn't have a Scooby Doo what my mobile number is though.

I still remember when the phone numbers got modified. Durham numbers went from 091 to 0191. I think.

                  Damn Tories.

Now I'm wondering if Spatial's feeling lonely or if he's sat on a public bog and reading the number for SEXY GAY FUN TIMES.

EDIT: Excellent, I was hoping to have take away this evening. Bit of a round trip, but they say hunger is the best sauce.

This, although I have also had an "erotic text message" and someone asking me for a quote to clean their windows, so I presume the number belonged to someone else before....

I tend to use my mobile for most things as my contract includes more minutes than I can use but other people prefer to phone the landline as it is cheaper for them. I have to check what it is when giving it to people, unlike my mobile which I know off the top of my head.

I do know my Mums home number (formerly my home number) and the BT number that house had before she switched to Virgin. I also know a fair few other peoples home phone numbers but not their mobile numbers.

                        Comprehensive enough?

God damn it, it's impossible to easily prank people in the day and age where Google has everything.

Clearly a 1/10 must try harder on my part.

They do make an amazing pork fried rice tho

No idea what mine is. Only exists as it was cheaper to take out with my Virgin TiVO and broadband.
