    Muammar Gaddafi killed

Thought this news could use it's own thread.

So, the rebellion forces have apparently finally captured and killed Libya's former president/dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

    About time, I'd say.

    Farewell Gaddafi!

You will not torture your population AND try and sell oil for Gold. Both you and Saddam have learned if you want to avoid invasion you can kill innocents but you must trade in dollars.

One of the biggest gold reserves in the world will now go to the Libyan people??.......or NOT!

I wonder if he got killed amongst the all the firing, or if they 'killed' him rather than capture him?

...........that is if he is actually dead

Funny, they're not being shy about showing gruesome photos this time around, quite a few grisly/graphic images of ol' Muammar greet you upon visiting AOL's main page(!)

Yeah...I generally don't make a point of looking at bloodied corpses, might've been nice to give us an option.

The "official" reports are that he died from multiple injuries to his body and head. In other words they beat they crap out of him when they pulled him out of that drain hole.

Now, few will mourn his death most likely, but he really should have gone to the Hague to answer the charges against him. His fate, perhaps, was inevitable though.

He had knowledge that would embarrass Britain and powerful people within it. If you can remember when his offices were invaded we saw a glimmer of paper work that implicated Britain in some dodgy deals but we never heard about it after that. Last thing they want is him shouting his mouth off in the Hague, silence is golden.

Operation clean house continues, who is next?

                    Same here.

And as for our govs embarassment should he have lived, well its VERY convenient. Blair & Brown must be wiping the sweat from their foreheads in relief that he 'got killed'

                      This.

Not too happy that I've just stumbled on the image of a very dead man whilst looking at the main page of a news website. If I want to see that **** I'll Google Image Search with the safety off.

Press as moral guardians my arse, only when it suits them... blah blah blah

I haven't seen it for myself - is the front page of the Sun with 'That's for Lockerbie' real? Have they actually got his bloody beaten face on shelves?

It's also on the website. I've blanked out Gaddafi's face, it's not nice (but it's there)

Wow. Barbaric. Obviously nobody is Gaddafi's fan and that's a given but, seriously, this is so backwards. Mob rule and revenge executions without process go on in many places in the world. Doesn't seem right that we're celebrating that here in this part of the world. We should be doing better.

Funny, with protests going on in many parts of the world, you'd think our elected leaders should be thinking - maybe I should say the whole mob killing their former ruler thing isn't such a good idea? I mean, what actions are they greenlighting by being okay with this?
