Spare couple of quid? Could have bought Comet...

Anglo-French electrical goods retailer Kesa has announced plans to sell off its troubled UK-based Comet stores to a private equity firm for just £2.

As an very recent EX employee of Comet this doesn't surprise me, but couple this with Best-buy backing out of the market and it makes you wonder what went wrong with electronic retailers. Is it that they are just too expensive to run and a retailer, or is it that we just don't buy TV's the way we used to?

Just wondered what peoples thoughts where to this?

I wish they had come to me first. I would have doubled that.

You wish you could have bought them for ?2 so you could be landed with several hundred million pounds worth of debt?

Sounds like a good idea to me....
