I always do alternate Christmas dinner it's great as I can pick up the best stuff for pennies as everyone wants turkey. This year I'll be doing root beer roasted jerk pork belly with wedges and pomdorino salad and it will be about half the cost of a turkey oh and I'll be drunk by 11am as usual

Love Christmas to bits. Will be seeing my parents, for the first time since January, where they live. Taking the wife as well. Presents have been scaled down a bit from last year, but still quite a few things they want and some surprises thrown in as well. Even though I'm 36, I'll be leaving a beer and mince pie for Father Christmas on the living room table before I go to bed on the 24th, and a carrot for Rudolph. My father likes that, as he never had the chance to believe in Santa - ruined for him as a toddler by older siblings.

On the day itself, we'll get up late, exchange presents with either a decades old carols CD or the radio playing in the background, check the food and especially the Christmas pudding, then have a jacuzzi for a bit. After lunch, just slob around for a bit, then go for a walk in nearby Saffa park and then watch some of the comedy DVDs then someone will inevitably get for Christmas.

I don't mind seeing decorations up early, but it would bemuse me to see them still up in March. Ours are always down by January 5th.

I'm getting into the spirit quite early this year - as the only foreigner, or at least, foreign looking man, living in the vicinity, I have asked to be Father Christmas at two childrens' parties early next month. Practicing my deep voiced Ho Ho Ho's

I’m not a big Christmas person but I’ve ended up with more plans than usual this year. My good lady and her sister are coming over to do a ‘fake Christmas’ a few days before, where we can do presents/eating/drinking, and on Christmas eve I’m hoping to get out of work early and hitch a ride with my sister back down to my parents place, with the aim to get a lift back with my brother in law on boxing day. I’m usually pretty content to just have a couple of days away from the office!

Mr Scrooge, can we get more coal for the fire? We can't write! Our assets are frozen!
