Wellers definitely are the best irons going. I've modded tons of xbox, PS2, GC and other bits and bobs throughout my time. I have a couple of cheap irons but never had the money or opportunity to get a decent one.

Spent 4 hours tonight building my bulbdial clock, looks awesome when plugged in.

It has various modes so you can adjust brightness & it has a night mode where it goes really dim if you want it to so it doesnt keep you awake.

Funnily enough my stuff got hijacked by customs for a bit as they were suspicous of my kits, lol as if i was planning to make the most fabulous colourful timebomb ever.

Always wanted to mess about wth Nixie tubes but never found a nice clock design till now, this is my next order it looks fantastic. A lot trickier to build as it uses high voltage so a bit more dangerous to work on but im ready for the challenge.

It uses RGB leds so the colours keep changing in the base.

You can get the kit for it from here http://nixiekits.eu/ but you have to buy the nixie tubes separate but they sell those too. I looked at the PDF for assembly & it's a bit above my level but i do want to have a go at building it sometime

Had the most awesome idea for another project but im not even sure it's possible to do, so far i have the finished idea in my head & it looks awesome lol.

I thought about making a 3D wearable 8-bit style crown but instead of just pixels it would have square leds for each pixel so the entire thing would glow, now several problems i have found, i don't think 10mm square leds exist & the amount needed if they did to make a wearable crown would draw so much power that i doubt i could power it from batteries for long unless i build some form of booster circuit.

No idea where to start i have a design in my head, but the electronics bit i have yet to work out at all.

Been a while since i updated, finally finished the last of my kits. Was fun to build them, first one was a silly thing called a larson scanner that i used in the eyes of a pumpkin for halloween. Basically it has the same sweeping light effect like the front of the car in Kight rider.



The newest finished kit was my meggy jr rgb, a open source programmable handheld gaming system, very basic games but fun to do.




Seeing as they stopped doing the nixie clock kit i posted on the other page i have had to track another down, settled on building this one instead. Order is placed & now have to wait for kit to arrive. Looks cool though

Finally finished building my nixie tube clock, looks so great in person. The colours change every hour, can be customized to display any colour you like for any hour of the day.
