Thanks, I think I'll need it!

Hopefully the next update will be about how I've moved in

I think I drove past your house the other day. This one?

Sounds like things can only get better from here. Hope it all gets sorted soon. You must be a saint to have not gone postal by now! Is everything ok with Mr and Mrs Spatial? Sometimes things like this can rock a relationship. Wait, wrong thread. (but serious point).

Keep up the good work, I've been building a conservatory for the last few months (not on the same scale as your work), it's hard work and gets you down at times but you'll have a nice house when you're finished and you'll have a lot of satisfaction for doing a lot of the work yourself, and save a fortune too.
          Keep at it mate

Cheers guys I keep saying that I'll have the phrase "It'll all be worth it in the end!" carved on my tombstone, but it will be worth it at some point. Just feels like there's still a long road before we get there.

Even that's probably more watertight than my house is at the moment

As for Lady Spatial, she's been an absolute rock and I don't know how I would have got this far without her help and support. How she's put up with me ranting and raving at all the nonsense over the past 18 months I don't know. Plus she's been the first one to put a brave face on things even when they've been ultra crappy.

Fair play to her, she's a keeper

Being unemployed since last Thursday, I've been spending my free time between job interviews doing DIY.

I have around 20 cardboard packing boxes from my move to Tokyo. They're mostly in decent condition so rather than throw them out, I thought I'd try and make shelves out of them for the Japanese room's closet.

              Googling around, I found this:

Now, I'm no stranger to cool cardboard projects(I made a pretty decent Thunderbird 2 out of cereal boxes in junior school) and I think I can manage it if I plan and get a metal ruler from the 100Y shop(if they even have one). The fact the designer actually sells these means they must be pretty sturdy compared to my original plan of just taping the box flaps back on themselves and placing the boxes one atop the other (in a brickwork fashion for extra support).

I could make one and see but it looks like each box shelf would need to be made from more than one box.

              Today will be fun

Changed a barrel lock in the back door - easiest job ever. Those carboard things look like good recycling usage

I removed 2 panel heaters and a giant storage heater in the week. Made the classic mistake of not removing the bricks fro mthe storage heater before I took it off the wall and nearly ended up to 2 crushed feet.

painted the lounge at the weekend with a paint pod, pretty impressive bit of kit and super quick to use too, its just a pump with a super long paint tube, but the clever bit the roller links to the paint pump machine via Bluetooth so its a pretty clever solution to having loads of wires everywhere. I love messing about with gadgets especial ones that clean the roller for me afterwards and stop me spilling paint everywhere. think i did a pretty good job with the edges too, no masking tape for me. thanks to the included triangular brush

Did you paint it pink, or do you need a new phone?

I give it a week before you're sat around in your dressing gown all day, sponging off honest tax-payers watching the Japanese equivalent of Jeremy Kyle.
