Paying my road tax this morning. I really don't think i'm getting good value for my ?475.

Road tax is daft. They should just add 1p to the price of petrol so that it's the people that actually use the road that pay.

Why should I pay extra because you want to drive around in a tank or rally car?

Companies with support email addresses that don't bother reading the emails.

I emailed ccp about download problems for eve online yesterday, detailing my problems along with the error message, and details on my mac. I get an email back generically directing me to the email address i originally emailed them on, For f*** sake!!!!!!!

Road tax should be paid for by the people that use the road. I barely use my car. It sits doing nothing most of the year. It costs me about ?5 in road tax (out of ?250?) every time I use it. People that drive thousands of miles a year should pay proportionally to keep the roads they use in good condition.

how reliant gaming is getting on having a internet connection now

Diablo 3 the lag has killed my character every time i have played it i shouldnt have to have lag in a single player game

                Ps3 huge updates

pc copy protection on a game i have paid for

If the next gen consoles need a constant online connection i will definetly not get them as my connection is to unreliable

Also i have a major fear that because of this its killed this gen to be retro as now games are being held on server such as downloadable games will i still be able to access them in say 10 years ? and say for example a game such as skyrim say i switch it on in 10 years time while i still be able to play it will i be able to have access to the patches.

Tablets/ultrabooks they irk me cos paying a premium price almost soley for the small form factor when they get to the stage where they can do everything that my pc can do ....plus more importantly the storage space and all for a decent price i will be happy

Work.....now i posted a while back as i had a meeting about absences which actually went ok but whats irking me about the place is there is no financial sense of keeping us there and they know it and we all know something is going to happen but the fact there not telling us anything is a major irk

We don't have road tax, our roads are paid for by local and general taxation. Winston Churchill abolished "road tax" back in 1926.
What we pay every 6 months/year is car tax, and we have no choice but to pay it because when a car leaves the showroom we are forced to legally register it, and to register some thing in the legal system is to transfer title ownership, which is what gives them the power to take the car off you if you decide not to pay. Car tax is simply theft.

Exactly the same situation with me, I pay ?475 in "Car Tax" and live 5 mins walk from my Uni so barely, if at all, use my car all week. Infact when you put it like that I'm probably paying ?5-?10 just in road tax for every return journey too. I literally only use my car to drive home to Cheshire for the Holidays, to go Snowboarding and Shopping in Manchester occasionally and to go to Music Festivals once or twice a year with my friends. I'd rather they just made petrol ?2.00 a Litre and did away with Tax. My "Tank" has a 3.0 TDV6 so that would still punish me significantly more than someone in a Vauxhall or a Kia or whatever ****boxes pay low roadtax since I get crap MPG but at least we'd all be paying our fair share to use the roads.

Why do you keep a car if you don't really need it? Aren't there trains or buses in the UK for occasional longer trips?

No trains or buses in the UK. Only ****boxes and tanks.

I live in zone 2 London so I will be paying 'car tax' the first of never. I do have to pay for my travelcard though

Is a paltry ?475 really a concern when you're a student who drives a Range Rover though? Probably not, really...

If it were up to me i'd make road tax ?1000 for that beast. Ever tried parking a car in the middle of two of them or had one tailgate you? I doubt there would be much car left if one off them ploughed into one of our '****boxs'. Horid horid things.

Make petrol ?2 per litre you say? Lol

If it were me they would be illegal or you would have to pass a seperate driving test for them, these super tank things are a bloody menace, even so called "normal" cars are huge nowadays like small stuff like a Nissan Quashqai or Juke's seem oversized. Have you ever noticed how torn up the roads now are since the commonisation of 4X4's and bigger people wagons and if you are next to one in a tight car park quite simply ****ed might as well just buy a transit van, I swear I saw the A Team jump out of a Ford Galaxy the other day

For road tax complainers if you use it so rarely then why not just rent a car when you need one must be cheaper than maintaining if you only use it a couple if times a month. Well if you live near one of them scheme places anyways

I wish less people were using their cars I have just had the cycle journey from hell. It was a like a mad competition where buses, taxi's, mopeds and cars all tried their best to get as close to killing me without actually hitting me. I have aged 20 years in the last 40 mins and will now have to get pissed up to forget the horror.
