Yeah, foam roller is GO! Might get another one. Mine is too soft. Maybe this one: http://www.feetus.co.uk/accessories-...am-roller-p270

Not exactly awful at 20:08 is it? Was it windy?

I don't tend to run during the winter, I like to hibernate. I will start back up again March when I might finally make my mind up and get some new trainers.

I did try on some Adios boost and they just seemed to click with me so I think it'll be a pair of them soon.

I love the wider toe box in the adios boost. Much wider than the adios 2 up front.

Managed 20k today. That's the furthest I've ever run in one session. Wasn't a great run though. My legs were more tired than usual, just lacked energy but I stubbornly finished the goal. Now I can't stop eating. Could be a sign I didn't fuel properly beforehand.

Pretty normal after 20k to eat lots. Probably hit 1500calories!
Well done on the distance. Did you feel like you could have gone on a bit further?

I did 12k in my FF sandals today along the singletrack trails in the woods that I normally use for MTB. The whole thing was hilarious - so much fun. Leaping over puddles, getting grip from nowhere in the mud (I'm sure big trail shoes would have just floated and slid on the top, but my feet drove through the bud to find grip somehow), getting used to releasing the pressure on hidden rocks in the mud to avoid hurting my feet, scrambing down super steep slopes trying not to accelerate out of control, leaping over trees that I have to stop and climb over with the bike normally, making my own trails in some areas because the Forestry Commission has been logging (I was running along fallen trees and jumping up on to tree stumps and then launching off them). I felt like a forest ninja (in a really bright Mizuno top ).

Good effort, Terry. Sometimes, the 'fasted' runs can be of benefit where they train your body to become more efficient at using fat as an energy source.

Shame you don't have a GoPro camera, Charles. Would have been one helluva recording of your run if you did!

I ran 10 miles with a training buddy at slightly faster than marathon race pace. It felt so good to run a longer distance at a decent clip, dusting off any cobwebs at the same time.

Received my race packs for the Bramley 20 and Silverstone Half. Getting quite excited now to be racing again soon, not having toed up on a proper startline since early November.

Cheers guys. It wasn't a good run at all. There was a strong crosswind to begin with, but despite that I knew I was feeling weak. My average pace was truly feable (~5:30/km) and there was nothing I could do about it. Normally I'm closer to 5:15/km on longer runs. I'd done 18k before, and I was determined to beat that even if I felt shagged from the outset.

When the wind dropped it was a beautiful day. :-)

Hmm, a friend has a gopro - I'll see if I can borrow it.

Terry, it's ok to have off-days.

A friend of mine who started running this time last year just did the Chi 10k in 41mins. How annoying . Although she does only weigh about 8stone.

I just asked to go for a run with Haile Gebrselassie on Sunday, but I've got family coming round from all over, so er... bum.

Awesome and doh at the same time. I missed him by about 30 seconds a few years ago when he was racing at a local half marathon. He'd turned the corner by the time I ran past on the other side

Had a really good 6 miles in the gorgeous sunshine earlier.

Will be in Wales this weekend so will be popping along to Cardiff Parkrun's 6th anniversary. Won't be going nuts since I'm having a mini taper ahead of the Bramley 20 on Sunday.

                          I'm going!

Questions for Haile please? I will have a short chance to chat.

His favourite running session if he could only run one session for the rest of his life.

Post a photo of you two if you can, the height difference will be quite comical!

I'm told there will be a photo op. If not, I'm doing a photo shop.

What would your answer be to that question? Mine would be a longish trail run, fartlekish.

Ask him if his first world record in 1994, 12:56.96 in the 5,000-metres, breaking Sa?d Aouita's record by two seconds was his favourite record? I never thought that record would ever get beaten!!
