I got a new toy today; I picked up a Sony NEX-3 for ?44, as I've not used the NEX series I want to see how they behaved - I'm interested in them because there are a good range of speedbooster adapters for them.

    That's with a 28mm M42 pentacon.
Bonkers price for a camera ! You must have a fair size camera shelf Marty

A few from my recently acquired LX100 - still learning how to use it, but liking it so far..

Good stuff EB - the IR cam still looks to be producing the goods.

Don't think I posted this one

And playing with macro stuff this evening ...

Saw this the other day of the new Nikon p900, absolutely bonkers stuff.

Yeah, I've seen that vid before. I had the P900 with me today. Saw this.

Through glass so it's not quite as clean as it could be.

                  Thanks !

Boris - that sunset shot of the Thames is fantastic - what a sky !

Thought I would see if I could get a decent long exposure with the LX100 - it's OK, but think I would generally prefer to use my DSLR for these - nice lightweight option if needed though

                    I think that works fine

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to get a decent long exposure on the LX100, it's got a 4/3rds size sensor in it and at low ISO they'll have no problem.

Had a major NAS failure on top of my OSX issues, then 2 othet HDD failures and I've managed to lose the photos I took when I was in Munich a couple of weeks ago

Better than all 900GB I guess

Bad luck EB. Not using cloud back-up then? All my stuff auto backs up online as a tertiary source when I copy it to the PC.

What HDDs are you using in the NAS?

Yep really bad news though could have been worse.

                            Superb hoverfly pic Marty.

                              Seagate HDDs

I've got 900gb of photos, I can't afford to keep them in the cloud right now and getting them in there would likely take months with my 750kb upload. Very few of the photo specific ones support raw either.

It's just really gutting as I hadn't uploaded any to Flickr at the point it happened, so I didn't even get Jorge of my fables.

Gutting mate. Something I'm totally paranoid about. Optical disc backups are the best answer IMO.
