    He lives just around the corner. Well... lived

    Loved his manner and his screen prescence. Retrospective thanks for all the memories and entertainment Sir Patrick!

      Inevitable, he was an old guy but will be sorely missed he got me interested in astronomy as a youngster and have always loved seeing him on TV, whether on SaN or playing his xylophone he's one of the dying breed of great eccentrics we have in this country.

              I think it was very appropriate that after a lot of cloudy skies recently, last night was easily the clearest night we've had for ages. Got in a good three hours and ticked off a few more objects on the Moore Winter Marathon. Cheers Patrick

                  I loved Patrick Moore, he was a bit of a racist, a sexist too (no excuse for either, regardless of the age you grew up in), but he turned a whole generation of people on to exploring the cosmos, and in doing so kindled their minds. No mean feat.

                  And then Ravi Shankar died a couple of days after Patrick Moore. Two legends. Gone.
