Hate the term grail but i've been after this for a while, i had this on PO way back before release and cancelled it so it's been a long time coming. Its a stunning piece, totally flawless and is so dynamic. Diorama done right.

That is epic, you'd expect him holding an Alien but having the others too in pose on that base takes the overall look to awesome.

For me, in the end I did something kinda naughty...



Soundwave arrived! And so did....... Acid Storm! Caved completely. It doesn't show at all in the pics but the shade of green used is brilliant and bold, really suits the figure perfectly. Probably one of the best looking ones after all.

Although after months of running solo, the arrival of two Decepticons and cohorts shocked Optimus



Soundwave is still the star of the two newbies. I like his player mode but he was built for displaying in robot mode, the casettes are just ingenious to transform, amazing designs.



This time with added scale



Though the little guys panicked when Optimus tried to fight back



In a few weeks he should be receiving back up...

I don't think I know Soundblaster so I hope I won't be bursting any bubbles by pointing out that he's clearly just Soundwave... seems a shame to have to get a double to get Ratbat. And another Sideswipe? How many of these Sideswipe clones are there?

Right History lesson

When the cartoon ended here in the UK & the US the Japanese weren't happy with the ending (Rebirth Episodes 1-3) so decided they would carry on with their own Headmasters series instead

In that Soundwave & Blaster have a massive fight & both die.

However the parts are collected by the respective faction & they are then rebuilt.

Soundwave becomes - Soundblaster (in Black)
Blaster becomes - Twincast (red & Blue)

In Japan both figures got new toys to go with the new series.

Generally we get black versions of the primes as there has been "evil" incarnations throughout the series so we get black "nemesis" versions...it's all a cash in

However when G2 released back in the 90's they did do recolours of most of the original Toys so where they can Takara will go forward with them to help bolster the MP line

So the black Sideswipe is actually a Sideswipe rather than a Red Alert/Tigertracks alt character recolour?

Yup, same character. I'm not sure I want to get into the G2 stuff which for me wasn't as good and Soundblaster is an easy skip as the definitive version is now owned. That pic of G2 Sideswipe though shows him in car form in black with red and then again with the green decals. Am I right in thinking he's coming with a sticker pack to fully detail him correctly?

Yeah they did a lot...there were even recolours for the Dinobots (Green seems to be stuck in my mind although that might have been the original Diaclone versions...or Blue...Diaclone might have been blue )
Although some did change totally & Megatron became a Tank for example

I had been adamant I wasn't getting the G2 stuff but looking at it now I might just cave he looks pretty bad ass in person.
Would be good if he did come with the decal pack.

Soundblaster was always going to get ordered...it's probably the only way I'll get Ratbat & he's a big part of the later series & more recently the comics so need him as well...plus I'm quite obviously a sucker for anything SW

Had a rummage through a few sites anf consensus seems to be G2 Sides will get a sticker sheet. That might sway me if he can be had for as low a price as the Nissans were. He needs the green to distance him from G1 Sides. Astounds me the KO makers are so behind the curve on alt colours.
