He looks fantastic. How big is he? I haven't seen any of the Masterpiece line in the flesh so don't have a size idea. Also, why couldn't you just transform him? Are they tricky or delicate?

In Robot he's about 5-6 inches tall IIRC
Lol Little of both there, the main reason though is Chloe was awake & tearing round so I had to get the missus to occupy her just while I took those pics once she has her afternoon kip over the weekend I'll have all the time I need to get him transformered but with little hands wanting to be into everything I couldn't really take the chance in case she did grab him

I haven't had the chance to post in the last few days, but Neil - Prowl looks great, he really does. Again very tough choice not to be buying him. But equally Smokescreen looks great in those new pictures and one of the few where I prefer the non-robot mode, I think.

Ultra Magnus is unexpected. Had him as a kid, but wasn't never one of my favourites, will have to see what he looks like.

I love Ultra Magnus and my love for him comes from one Christmas as a kid. I got him for Christmas, opened him up and found his hands were missing (this seemed to be a common occurrence back when I was a kid, hence the wire hell these days which means this is a much rarer event). My mum brought him back to the shop but they were out of him and had no idea if or when they'd be getting any more in. So we swapped him for Galvatron. Now Galvatron was pretty cool and I loved the gun form and sounds but I always felt an Ultra Magnus shaped void in my life.

So I bought him as an adult, maybe somewhere around 15 years ago. But now one of the smokestacks has broken. Boo...

I may have no choice but to get the masterpiece one if it's good because my childhood demands it.

I was lucky enough to get Galvatron, Ultra Magnus and Hot Rod when they were still newish. But I never clicked with either of the (new) leaders and to be honest and I realise now was more intrigued by characters I was seeing for the first time like Springer, Cyclonus, Scourge and Wreck-Gar (I only ever managed to get Springer) from the film along with other G1's that I never owned. I think part of it was that he was a white Optimus Prime with a trailer to me rather than a cool new mould.

I remember Ultra Magnus being very popular though and a friend getting him before the film came out (that might be my memory playing tricks) so I can imagine a lot of fans will be really looking forward to a Masterpiece issue. Just might not be one for me, although I'm open minded.

Remember you saying that one of those Smokestacks had broken earlier in the thread. There's some fairly cheap G1 toys on eBay, so hopefully you can savage one (I can't remember how they are attached)?

You know, I didn't even think about trying to replace the smokestack but that's a great idea because, otherwise, he's in great condition. I shall look into that!

As much as it's saddens me I've still not transformed him
Chloe has managed to pick up chicken pox this weekend so all my spare time has been taken up trying to keep her occupied & as happy as possible...she's getting irritable really quickly

Yeah Magnus was a little unexpected but he's been on the cards for a while.
By all accounts the current Optimus Prime MP10 was designed with armour in mind & a mock was actually shown a long time ago when they actually first showed MP10

Man that's a sad story about Magnus.
I remember getting him myself, mine was complete but it wasn't long before the fists were lost luckily I still had my prime ones so on the rare occasions he wasn't in his armour I used them instead

I actually picked up the re-issue they did a few years back from Toys R Us but as it was the re-issue it came with the shortened smoke stacks that are part of the current health & safety rules

Yeah I actually quite liked a lot of '86 arrivals & Cyclonus was definitely up there, my brother had Galvatron & although he was an awful looking toy he was awesome a Masterpiece version would be sweet.
I'm actually hoping we do get Galvatron, Cyclonus & Scourge at some point that would be sweet.

Promise I'll get round to Prowl sometime this week guys lol

Finally picked up the Bad Blood again ( first one came smashed in about 20 pieces ) and actually got him cheaper than the first time! Also picked up the 1/6 Big Chap Alien statue and very nice it is too!

I've got a G1 Soundwave I want to eBay, but I have a question. Should it have Hasbro branding in the "battery compartment"? Mine just says Takara '72 '83. Were they all like this, or is it uber rarez0rz?
