Sold a few games the other week stupid me just paid for 2nd class postage on a few of the cheaper ones all went fine bar one game with a case opened for an undelivered item.

Sent him the proof of postage and asked him to make sure he hadn't got the item, as it would be considered a fraudulent claim to claim items haven’t arrived. He sheepishly apologised and dropped the case with a “ah well was worth a try”.

I wonder if eBay mark these people for fraudulently trying to claim stuff hasn’t arrived, it’s like they see the non tracked postage and think yay free item.

Although there's a bit of change around payments. Guess Ebay are hoping for some interest coin there.
Just checked and any existing auctions use the old fees, so if you’re eligible to lust for free now, it’s worth ending and relisting auctions.

I’ve done that now and passed some of the saving to buyers as hopefully this will shift them.

OK great. I'm maximising my lusting now that it's free.

Oh, I'd read that existing listings would have no fees. Good to know. Never trust what randoms say Ebay customer support people said!

No, existing listings also have no FVF taken as I just sold something today that had been listed prior to 1st October. The only fee I paid was the international charge (2.5%) which is a pure eBay cream it off for nothing expense.

Oh and likewise, dropped the listing prices a little due to this.

That’s good. I was going by the ‘revise listing’ dialogue which said “revise with displayed fees” or something. This disappeared when I relisted, but maybe that’s more of a bug than an indicator or policy.

So I sent a package of 3 PS2s out to a buyer via Yodel. Yodel left the parcel pretty well on the street, albeit behind a gate and set of bins. They provided a photo. They notified the buyer it was in a “safe place (bin). The seller messaged me yesterday to say he couldn’t find it and has sent me a wider angle picture of the location. FWIW I’m giving the buyer the benefit of any doubt. I have asked him to confirm that he didn’t tell Yodel they could leave the parcel there, which seems very unlikely.

I presume the thing to do is refund the buyer and chase Yodel for compensation. I didn’t have any special insurance on the items but frankly this is obvious negligence on their part and a failure to keep to the terms of the contract (even if not surprising). What I might do is wait for the buyer to go through eBay rather than just cough the money up.

Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and their experience with eBay/couriers?
