Seriously, f@&king around with peoples avatars without their permission is incredibly childish and not at all funny - if I was Joe I'd be furious seeing that. I see now that the other recent complaint about mods messing with someone's profile was likely not just paranoia either.

In the last few years the forum has been decidedly clique-y, what with the blue room members only stuff, the use of real first names that a lot of infrequent visitors wouldn't know (a lot of the time I have no idea and I've been here for a decade, on and off) but now you guys are really walking a thin line when you start mocking your members in this way.

On an Internet forum a username/avatar is a persons identity, not something for 'impartial' moderators to play around with for their own personal agenda or for the sake of what is basically bullying. I work in kindergartens and if the kids start making jokes with other peoples names we come down on them like a ton of bricks. Hey, it's ok here though cos you guys are all best buds right? Not really, if you paid any attention to some of the reactions you're getting.

First names thing gets my goat, been here almost a decade as well. Whenever I've mentioned it I get treated like a crazy person. I get that there are people on here who know each other in real life but it feels like primary school.

I missed all the fun because I use the at work skin so I'm not sure exactly what went on. Was it like the halloween ghosts thing?

On my iPad everyone's avatar was changed to an xbox avatar - I think other things may have happened too but if so it didn't show up on my device. A lot of people complained but J0e has been singled out and Boris has now changed J0e's personal avatar to flash up an xbox logo every so often. It's hilarious.

Just out of curiosity, is it still impossible to show your disdain for the company by typing Microsoft? Corporation?

Changing 38 29 01 82 60's login credentials was a bit off though, messing with accounts is a whole different matter compared to switching everyone's avatars around. It was only a bit of fun but people are acting like their bank accounts or personal spaces were compromised.

One thing I've learned in my time here(especially reading posts in depression threads) is that being 'man enough' means different things to different people.
