Nah, it wasn't a toy, it was a game.

It was an angry looking dude in a karate suit on a box, and kind of like the game "Simon", you had to move his arms and legs when the relevant light came on.

        Yeah, that's exactly it!
I was just about to post it!

It's also known as Karateka. I gotta get me one of these as Leon at school never let me have a go on his.

They released a new series of those Battle Beast figures in Japan in the past few years, although it's spun off into it's own thing now and is called Beast Saga. (Also has it's own anime series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfN2Ta4cHMQ ) Only found out because I bought a few of them amongst other things in some 'junk' bags recently.

They changed the little hologram thing they used to have for dice now.

My Mom fished out a load of these M.U.S.C.L.E. wrestling figures out of the loft the other day - AWESOME!

I had star wars, tranfsformers, thundercats, rambo stuff, real ghostbusters but nothing gave me greater pleasure than

                    a) Lego

                    and

                    B) Robotix

I was one of those "odd" children that was brought up on weird stuff. Besides stuff like the salter chemistry set & various electronic building kits i also loved...

Matchbox cascade, god this thing was amazing one you got it running. Served no purpose apart from the pleasing bonk bonk bonk bonk as the ball bearings hit the trampolenes.

Also loved capsela, amazingly they still make the stuff. Lots of clear pods with gears inside that you lock together to make machines.

There was also another toy but i have no idea what it was called so i cant find any info on it. I remember i was about 5 so it was early 80's it looked like a weird rube goldberg contraption crossed with the gizmo from mousetrap. You put marbles at the top on the tracks but you then filled the water container that looked like a barrel on the roof of it then you pulled the plug & the water would come out & start activating various things on the way down which would release the marbles. I borrowed it off my friend for a week it was amazing but i only have a vague memory of it.

Anyone remember Tomy pocketeers, little handheld games. Some of them wind up a lot of them just spring or flick powered. Used to love them, kind of wish i had held on to mine.

I think the first real toy line I was into as a kid was He Man, had a few of the figures including this bad boy:

I also had a lot of Star Wars figures and this:

But that was mostly whilst I was too young and it was just something to buy at Xmas for me.

From there I had the whole Transformers phase and various others like Thundercats etc but main fads I think next was Real Ghostbusters with the figures and these:

Let's just say I got a Unicron toy for my 23rd birthday (after waiting until they actually made them) and a G1 Soundwave for my 25th and couldn't have been happier.
