How to solve Black Friday in three steps:
1. Open store and let people flood in
2. Close doors and lock behind them
3. Burn the store to the ground
We'd all have to agree to look the other way, of course.
Edit: Just saw Golgo's post.Last edited by Decider-VT; 30-11-2014, 08:27.

I can't really decide if this is an irk or a smile.......
My iPhone 5 went in almost a month ago under Apple's recall to have a new power button and battery fitted, 3-5 business days it was meant to take. Almost four weeks later and still no sign of it, despite me being told it was on it's way back to the Edinburgh store almost a week ago. So I call up today again only to be told they decided they couldn't repair it (weird as it was allegedly on it's way back having been fixed) and that if I come in to the Apple store they're just going to give me a replacement, brand new phone. My bull**** detector tells me they've lost mine.

#1: They red iTunes icon. Nonsense. It looks like an error message in the dock.
#2: These Dell P2815Q 4K monitors are horrible. Horrible! 100ms input lag which, according to a Dell tech, is by design. It's like using remote desktop. The jerkiness isn't an issue for me(60Hz up to 1080p, 30Hz beyond that) but the lag is. I installed three of them last week for some higher-ups and one is thinking about getting back his old monitor because of this. I agree.
Not to mention, Windows 7 is rubbish in 4K and I think it doesn't play nice with non-standard DPI settings likes OSX does so they're not even being fully utilised. I think my manager just got happy because of the resolution and bought them.
Luckily the other two managers haven't complained.
Yet.

Compared to the news story above it's more a minor niggle, but I had a can on cider with dinner last night, 2 hours before bed. Drank a cup of caffeine-free tea and lots of water. Still woke up with a pounding headache that's taken an extra 3 hours of napping and 2 sets of paracetamol to get shot of. Screw this, I'm back on the wagon.

CIBC and Scotiabank both offerr fee-free studfent accounts (ie. monthly or transaction fees)
Scotia are better though, as they have SCENE points program....they add up quite fast for free films at the cinema (also a bonus on sign up for 4 free films right off)
Just show your UofC ID and class schedule and sortedLast edited by usman; 02-12-2014, 02:06.
