Me, too. The 18 second shot was brilliant. I didn't actually laugh throughout because it's not necessarily funny, just VERY cute. I awwed the whole time, though. I love the way the dog smiles - perfect comic timing

Don't enjoy an experience - simply be more concerned with telling the world that you're having the experience. That way your actual enjoyment is diluted, but at least everyone else will be impressed and jealous. I wouldn't be surprised if he posted that mid-dip, frankly.

「日本語が上手です」 a.k.a. nihongo ga jouzu desu a.k.a. you're really good at Japanese.

Japanese people tell me that. Of course they do. They say it to anyone who can squeeze out a konnichiwa, so it's pretty meaningless and I ignore it.

However, now and then I'll get a genuine compliment that makes me smile. At a job interview last year the interviewer said my Japanese is easy to understand(lit. easy to hear) which she was not used to from foreigners. Since then I've heard it a few times from different people, but today took the biscuit:

Store manager watching me type: "Wow, you type English like a foreigner"

Me: "Huh? I AM a foreigner "

Him: "I keep forgetting you weren't born here!"

Achievement unlocked

Ah nice. The best I've had was my GF telling me she doesn't think of me as a foreigner.

Pretty much why I'm allowed to get away with it, 4 year gap from 19-23, then again from 28-32. And even between 23 and 28 there wasn't much. Bloody Canadians. I was proper surprised last year when all the right muscle still worked.

I mentioned in one thread but about a month ago I was seriously worried about my income and livelihood. In spite of being damn good at what I do (and modest too), not a hint of work had come in since around October of last year and we had been living on savings which had been depleted somewhat from a quiet 2014 generally. Then about 4 weeks ago, work kind of popped up out of nowhere (well, that's the short version - the long version is that work that was being talked about fell through miserably and I fought my ass off to get attached to work related to that project). A really great project. Then a bunch of other things started happening, leading to too much work which was kind of hilarious.

Anyway, today that first bit of work that came through 4 weeks ago has just led to a much bigger thing. Big enough to turn down just about anything else for the next few months. And it's fun too.
