just bought a loose dreamcast from a charity shop for a tenner. Couldnt check the video output/controller ports, but it powers on and a disc whirls ok.

Question - do you think everything will work ok for an on period of an hour?

I'm gonna say yes also. Despite the flip cover they can be resilient little machines when they want to be. They were created to be played by 6 billion players and by god they won't die till they achieve that claim

I'm going to say yes because charity shops aren't supposed to sell electrical goods without having tested them first (and end up binning a lot of good stuff - I managed to save a fantastic miniature Panasonic CRT tv that displays PAL and NTSC from this fate when I worked at oxfam). Honestly, I don't think they would have been that conscientious (or even knowledgeable enough to know how to turn it on), but whatever.
