I have two UPSes, one is meant for the computer (plus monitors) and one for the NAS (plus router, network switch, and consoles).
Both gave up within 5 minutes, telling that the battery had to be replaced. Fair enough, both were older than 5 years.
New UPSes arrive today, so I spend almost an hour unfurling cables, labelling them, and reconnecting everything.
Results:
2 USB cables leading to the PC connected to nothing.
1 power cable connected to one UPS but not to any appliance.
1 power cable connected between an UPS and a multisocket. Multisocket connected to wall outlet.
NAS and PC connected to one UPS. The one with the lower power rating of course.
Only one UPS connected to a wall outlet; the second UPS was connected to the first.
Now everything's labelled and wired correctly.
