I feel like a real Victorian dad because I make my kids watch and play age-appropriate films/games.
If I know the content and think an older film doesn't merit the higher rating, I'll watch it, but I feel pretty unique in not showing stuff.
I'm on a Facebook movie group and the number of times I see people saying they introduced their kids to horror/violence because it never did them any harm.
The thing is, we all have memories of watching stuff as a kid that sits with us now that wasn't supposed to haunt us for the rest of our lives (Artax drowning, Superman III computer, Noseybonk, Ghost Watch etc.) but here we are.
My daughter begged for Roblox and it's now all-consuming and I think I'm going to have to ration it, making me the bad guy again.
