Honestly, Scotland’s first minister would have more clout as the leader of a small population EU member state (and have a seat on the European Council) than they would as Scottish first minister.
I’m still of the opinion that, ignoring Brexit for a moment, there never would’ve been such significant support for Scottish independence had devolution of powers from the UK government been more meaningful and deeper – so-called Devo Max or even a full federal system.
