The media should be calling it what it was, an attempted Coup d'état - you have to stop and pinch yourself for a second to believe that this is being said by a sitting president of the United States - Trump isn't going to go quietly into the night, even when the results are absolutely clear.

Steve Bannon also calling overnight for Dr Anthony Fauci and Christopher Wray to be beheaded and placed on spikes displayed as a warning outside the White House. I'm not quite clear on what. These are the sort of fantasies we're dealing with here - it's not going to be pretty in the coming weeks.

Georgia is about to flip blue - it's down to less that a couple of hundred votes now with about 9000 to count and Biden is taking them 85:15 so it'll be about 7500 to Biden.

It's showing the updates in the count batches - based on what I'm seeing, Georgia should flip to Biden in the next hour.

Trump has lost and Biden will take the presidency, pending a recount.

On the BBC page it says trump needs all 4 states just to tie. He's lost. Of course he'll drag it through the courts, leaving a bitter taste in people's mouths so they doubt the presidency for the next four years. Like it or not he's changed the face of politics in America and maybe beyond forever.

Listening to the radio this morning they were talking about the coming months and the parallels with the 2000 election where Gore had the Presidency effectively stolen from him by Bush.

Would this time be different though? The process sounds the same but in 2000 neither candidate had reached the 270 EV threshold whereas here Biden seems on course to convincingly have the EV and Public vote secured meaning any overturning of the result would surely be too big of a consititutional crisis for the Republicans to risk for the sake of Trump?

Biden has taken the lead in Georgia - up 900 votes now.

With regards to the above - the Supreme Court didn't overturn the 2000 result - they stopped the recount, so the state went to Bush as originally called.

Yes, mostly because they had no merit. The only case Trump has won was for observers to be able to be closer to the people doing the counting - they were never prevented from observing as Trump wrongly claimed.

Biden is going to take Georgia and Pennsylvania - Trump has lost and should start packing his bags.
