Oh this latest school shooting was such a tragedy. No it wasn’t, it was an inevitable fact, there’s a difference.
When mass shootings become an inevitable fact of a country, then there’s obviously a SERIOUS problem with the country.
That problem goes all the way to the top with probably half the US senate having ties to arms companies.
It’s their own fault, you can’t even blame the nut jobs doing the shootings really, they all buy their fire arms legally.

That doesn’t seem right. I’ll bet it’s not counting like for like. I suspect Obama’s figure to be way, way higher than that. Not because it’s him but because the culture of gun violence. What I’d have no trouble believing is that there are even more white supremacy related mass shootings since Trump got in but the figures don’t feel right.

The Wikipedia link is flawed in the sense they only list shootings in that article that also have their own page dedicated to that particular one.
Problem lies with the definition of "mass shooting". Some outlets use four or more people (not including gunman) shot. Some use (including the US Government) as four or more shot or killed. Some (such as Mother Jones) only go for at least four killed by guns. By the strictest definition used by MJ, the number of mass shootings this year so far is seven. By the loosest sense above, whereby at least four shot regardless of injury or death, then yes the number is over 250.Last edited by Mayhem; 08-08-2019, 13:59.Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Of the number of gun related deaths per year in the US, about 65% are suicides. Of the remaining 35%, approximately half are related to gang and drug squabbles. To still put that into perspective, the total number of gun related murders in the UK occur in three days in the US.Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Universal Cancels The Hunt's Release
"While Universal and the Blumhouse team have had big success with the Purge franchise, the companies' latest blend of politics and violence has fallen afoul of the political climate in the States, resulting in the decision to cancel the release of The Hunt.
Written by Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse, the basic synopsis for the film runs as: "In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, a bunch of elites gathers for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport. But the elites’ master plan is about to be derailed because one of the hunted, Crystal (Betty Gilpin), knows The Hunters’ game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one, as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman (Hilary Swank) at the center of it all."
In the shadow of the latest mass shootings in the US, the two companies had decided to remove much of the marketing for the film, directed by Craig Zobel. Now, though, they are holding the film indefinitely.
"While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for The Hunt, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film," a spokesperson for Universal said in a statement picked up by Variety. "We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film."
Films have often been delayed because of real-world events, though this feels more permanent, which is regretful since it'll do exactly nothing to solve the actual issue in the United States in particular. The Hunt had been due to arrive next month"
