Nope; it has to go to the Senate, which is narrowly controlled by the Republicans. More than 2/3rds of senators need to vote to impeach a sitting president, and while the senators take an oath of impartiality before the vote, I doubt enough of the Republican senators will grow a backbone fast enough to do anything.

That's not quite how the impeachment process works. You're right that it ultimately has to go to the senate for trial, but it is the House of Representatives that actually impeach the president.

It's never stops being bewildering to watch the Republicans be so willing to submit before Trumps tantrum nature and back him unconditionally when the precedent they're setting is bound to bite them in the ass one day

If that gives them four more years at the helm of the country where they can bend the rules in their favour, they'll do anything. Currently I see Trump's impeachment to be unlikely, but if the Democrats went forward with it maybe there are under-the-table agreements that will bring it to reality. Or, I don't know, if they lose, they have already prepared a massive media campaign to show how corrupt the opposing party is and move more voters towards them.

Trump's impeachment is 100% guaranteed as the Democrats have a majority in the House, he will be the 3rd president to be impeached.

His removal from office probably not given the Republicans have a majority in the Senate.

And as expected, Trump becomes the 3rd president in US history to be impeached (the others being Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton): https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...-pelosi-latest.

Yeah, but Trump doesn't get removed from office after impeachment, he has to stand down.
It needs at least 20 Republican representatives to vote to remove him, even if all of the Democrats vote.
Why would they shake the applecart and risk losing power.

He's "having fun" and won't resign.
If anything, this will fire up his voters all the more and he'll serve his second term.

More US citizens support impeaching Trump than not and it's been the Ukraine scandal that's flipped it from not supporting to supporting.

FiveThirtyEight is tracking polls that ask whether respondents support impeaching President Trump.

Yes but it still serves a purpose and I think criticism of Corbyn is a pretty good example here because, when he had a chance to really step up on Brexit, he didn't. You're right that I don't think this will make the slightest bit of difference to Trump voters. But where it could make a difference is in Democrat votes. Firstly because it shows they're finally willing to at least do something, even if it's technically symbolic at best (it still drags Trump over the coals) and, secondly, because what it also shows is that there is no excuse for someone to vote Republican - they have shown themselves to be all in it. That second point is important because, in the early years of his presidency, there was a narrative that 'good' Republicans would do something about this. That they could keep him in check. That hasn't happened.

So yeah, nothing at this point I think will change the minds of Trump voters and, as we've said, he could probably eat a baby on TV and they'd still vote for him. But the Democrats need to do anything they can to at least retain the voters they might have and this is part of that, I think. Feels a little late but they are at least stepping up in some form.

A Reuters review found that at least 63 individuals with Russian passports or addresses have bought at least $98.4 million worth of property in seven Trump-branded luxury towers in southern Florida.

Trump's entire tenure has been all about ways he can make money. For himself.

From the resutls he won with in 2016, how much would it take for him to lose in 2020?

                          About 80,000 votes.

The current US in a nutshell right here: The US Department of Agriculture listed Wakanda as a free-trade partner - despite it being a fictional country.

Officials say it was an error to add the fictional nation from Black Panther to the list.

Stories like this are a bit weird.

Russians are one of the wealthiest on the planet, they tend to buy the apartments which seem to them to be the most ostentatious, like the ones with that twats name on them.

63 Russians have bought an apartment in said buildings, so out of the 7 Trump branded towers in Floria, which is about as vulgar as an address you can get in Florida, so see why they love it, 3% have been sold to rich Russians, at an average of £1.1m.

Sorry, but where is the story exactly?

2% of the whole of London is populated by Russians, well it was in 2014, probably higher now?

A friend in property in Kensington & Chelsea says some of the apartments in the squares round there are up to 25% Russian owned, and often sit empty for 50 weeks of the year too.

It was like the constant reference to the "Russian money funding the Tory campaign" during the elections.
They are rich and they want to keep their houses and be able to stay in the UK, of course Russians are more likely to donate to the Tories than Labour.
It was said in the hope voters saw it as Russian interfering.

Interesting to hear some Democrat supporters being interviewed this morning, a few of them felt it was a bit of a witch hunt and said they felt if anything it would not be in their favour, that he would get more support going forward. We shall see.

It may just have been human error in this case, but it does point to the wider issues that Trump is appointing clueless people the various departments of US Government, mostly because he wants people in them that don't know what they're doing so that they won't challenge Trump's self-proclaimed genius.
