The number of US deaths to the virus is passing 60,000 as Trump announces he will begin relaxing social distancing rules.
Trump also said that there may be no need for a vaccine as the virus may soon simply be gone. Apparently by magic as he provided no reason for that offering. In a new poll the public seem to have only a minority of support for relaxing rules.

His calling out fake news is becoming less and less effective as the above chart shows - Trump is now behind in the polls in Texas, a state he was polling well ahead on last time around. Whilst his fanatical base may still believe his BS, it's becoming more and more transparent to everyone else.Comment

Yep. In spite of all the lunacy over the last few years and the fact that he can't be contained and any checks and balances never happened, the nature of the modern world reduces his ability to control the narrative. If this was 60 years ago and it was just newspapers and some local TV stations, his ability to control the news would be far greater. But now? He can spout his nonsense and his followers will lap it up (and those are clearly a very significant number) but he can't really spread it beyond those who would have believed him in the first place. He can't achieve the level of control a fascist would have had almost a century ago.Comment

Dr Rick Bright is pushing through a whistleblowing complaint against Trump claiming that he was removed for refusing to promote hydroxychloroquine.
Trump has also claimed to have seen evidence that China made Coronavirus in a lab. The US Intelligence Authorities have all concluded that the virus was not man made or genetically modified - once again showcasing just how far we now are from Trump making any bare minimum attempt to hide attempts to lie to the publicComment

He's already done. Trump should have been an easy target but they can't go after his dodgy sexual misconduct history and weird comments when this hangs over Biden. They can't go after Trump's endless lies when Biden's history with the truth isn't exactly stellar. He is and always was a tainted candidate. His own shaky ground weakens any campaign against Trump. Whatever the polls might say, I think he's done and they ejected anyone else who might have pulled together any kind of opposition.Comment
