The army should be in charge with a proper lock down and shoot to kill anyone who thinks otherwise.

The military should be put in charge full stop right now. The government, if you can call the boys club that anymore, has utterly failed at every point and is completely broken.

Then rebuild a new government system based on merit, ability and experience, not how good a buddy were with your polo pal jonesy at Oxford.

I agree. Absolute shambles but the public reckoning is that they have done well. At least for now. There is backlash starting about PPE but now isn't the time. In a year I wouldnt be surprised if there is some sort of trial about the mishandling and lateness of the response.

The British military are just as bad, usually initially incompetent and provided with inadequate or wrong equipment for the wrong job. They go in, make a hash of it, the incompetents are sacked and the remainder slowly learn how to do what they need to do. They get the updated equipment necessary and, eventually, the people who know what they're doing in charge. That is until the next crisis/war when they go through the whole process all over again - it has been a feature of British military history for at least 250 years.

We haven't the time to indulge that sort of learning curve so the last thing we need is dumb squaddies policing the UK streets with guns unless, of course, they look like Michelle Keegan - I would not mind that at all.

But I would not joke about it - there have been rumours of military movement at the start of the current crisis around the big cities and you can be pretty sure there is a bad plan in place to use them if it kicks off anywhere ie. like the 'London' riots of 2011.

The military has no place in civilian politics. None. We shouldn't even entertain that notion.

Agreed. This fella however would be perfectly acceptable:

What the general public fail to grasp is the less they comply on been actual thoughtful citizens and staying in instead of been selfish ****s the higher chance of the uk going into full police state i mean the government has already pushing on this in the background with the amount of privacy invading crap they have tried over the years. While people think this is a jolly spring jaunt to do as you like and ignore the fact we are in a global pandemic the more the government is going to escalate this stuff from suggesting people stay in to full on arresting people for been outside and once they start pushing harder things there's no going back.

Considering china now requires you to have an app on your phone that shows your immunity status to even travel outside doing day to day stuff you have to be QR code scanned to even go into a supermarket to buy food. Keep it up uk and you'll be on the same pathway, christ that cuntbag may is probably creaming in her knickers at the thought of the uk population under strict survellance.

You're both wrong. THIS is Martial Law.

Quote from Battlestar: 'There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.'

I wonder if the same motion was brought forward today, would the same MPs vote against the nurses pay cap? If not, it means MPs are voting based not on what they believe, but on what is best to protect their careers. No doubt the same thing happens in all parties. Deviating from the party line must be difficult. Would it be possible to have a government where Partys are banned and only individuals represent their constituencies, free to vote in Parliament as they choose? This would require huge change in government, but very little change for the People, apart from actually having to read the manifestos of their local candidates in an election. It can't be any worse than the current shambles can it 🤣

A list of every MP that voted AGAINST a nurses pay raise.

I've been saying for years that political parties should be banned. MPs are supposed to be there to represent their constituents wishes. Perhaps being a MP could be made into a form of civil service something like jury duty?

That list of MPs needs to be projected in to the sky like the ****ing batsign until the end of time. Clap on the doorstep of number 10 all you want.
