The government do and there are exemptions already in the regulations for public transport, which are likely to be similar: https://www.gov.uk/government/public...face-coverings

If ever there was a situation to question the value of sending your kids to premium higher education it's this study from Oxford University which claims that the UK may already have achieved enough herd immunity to avoid a second wave. What complete and utter ****.

I've also done a study that ignores any evidence from the abundance of international events and it's found that if you take the number of confirmed cases and the number of suspected cases and cross reference that with transmission methodology and environmental contributory factors you can directly relate that to the mortality rate to pattern results that evidence... that money grabbing Universities will come up with any old ******* to try and convince people to keep going and paying the obscene overpriced tuition fees.

It's Gupta again, peddling the same stuff she's been peddling for a while.

Tuition fees are a disgrace. But that's another (very complicated) discussion.

Anyway, back to workplaces people (if you're not already), use public trancidport, and whatever you do, buy many sarnies (mask free zones I believe!?!)!!!!

I didn't do any of those things when I was commuting to the office, so I think I'll remain working from home if it's all the same to you

It never surprises me in itself that our Government follows Trumps playbook but the bit that still gets me is that they're so slavish about it despite the abundance of evidence now that Trump couldn't be playing COVID more wrong.

From tomorrow local councils get handed the powers to take responsibility of local lockdowns themselves

From 01 August Working From Home advice will be updated effectively placing all responsibility on employers

Johnson hopes to cease all social distancing and the entire country to be back to normal for November despite the universal proof that this is impossible to achieve, a target that he won't at least have to admit responsibility for missing if the Government keeps shunting the blame on others. The Chief Scientific Advisor has said there is no need at all for the Government to change its WFH advice.

But think of the sangers. Won't eat themselves.

Ok, I jest, (just to be clear on that, as honestly, this place...) there are many people who will be impacted by this latest (farcical) guidance.

Can’t get or give someone Covid if you’re mid-snack. Doctors don’t want you to know this one trick.

Also said the UK response and result had been bad overall. He'll have to be sacked soon. Is not 'on message'.

The UK has ceased giving daily updates on COVID deaths as it turns out we can't even get that right.

They didn’t stop giving out updates when it turned out earlier that they were only counting hospital deaths. They’re desperate to do anything that might make them look not quite as incompetent as they are.

That's similar to how unemployment figures are, as they say, massaged. Reminds me of Analyze This when they mention some guy killed himself by stabbing himself in the back several times then threw himself off a bridge.

I walked by pubs today that were absolutely packed. It's some disconnect compared to the stories we've read for months.

‘Geopolitical’ factors were behind the move, the company was told, with hints that the decision could be reversed in future

Huawei's 5G ban in the UK might be reversed before it comes into action because it seems like it was mostly done just to please Trump
