Sorry to hear that. My mother isn't sold on the idea of seeing anyone even though my father still goes to work. Bit of a facepalm moment, that, but I guess everyone has to make their choices.

Would have gone back to see my Mum this weekend, but obviously cancelled. So just a Mother's Day card and no flowers this year, unfortunately. Although spoke to her today and find out that they were having guest around last night and one of them is an NHS worker.

So stupid people aren't just from one generation. People not taking this seriously all over the place.

I've been confirmed as a key worker, daughter is staying at home though.

Air industry starting to wind down, Manchester has only T1 open from next Wednesday, closing T2 and T3. LHR closing T4.

Good news that the private health care beds are going to become available next week as we're going to need them. New positives rose by over 1,000 the last 24 hours, such is the nature of exponential growth.

Lost it with a guy in a shop today, Home Bargains to be exact. I don't lose it in shops. I'm benign! There were only two little lasses on the till with two queues thirty-strong, he started kicking off over 50p change, getting proper violent-type aggressive so I just Joe Pesci-d him in front of everyone, F-bombed him to oblivion, and with great verve.

A disgusting, horrible person. But I'm proud of myself, didn't know I had it in me, everyone behind me was scared to speak up. Nice one, Danny Boy! Specky four eyes does good!!!

Propah scared the sheesh out of him, he just slunk out but he was just a horrible opportunist prick.

            Set o' bastards.

He'd bought like five of those horrible 29p 250ml 'Emerge' energy drinks. Fuxake.

Key Worker school placements might be moved to alternate schools which will render them fairly pointless for some. Can't imagine Jr1 lasting more than a fortnight at this rate.

Yep that was the concern the daughter had that's why she's stayong at home.

Homework will continue on 'show my homework', lessons are being done on Skype and one the the teachers is setting up a YouTube channel.

At her school they take RE GCSE a year early which for her is this year, now not happening of course. At least now she can concentrate on the other subjects a bit.

I went into Leeds with the missus last night as we felt it was inevitable everything would end up closing and we wanted to get something to eat/drink before everything shuts for who knows how long - it seemed likely at that point that things would probably be closing by the weekend. As it turned out, the government had announced on the drive there that pubs/restaurants needed to shut as soon as possible, so we wandered around a very surreal and pretty damn empty city - a handful of places still open and looking like they'd shut soon. We found one quiet pub and sat in there for an hour or so - maybe ten people there at the most - then the staff came round and did last orders at about 8pm.

Looking at the dregs of my pint and not knowing when I'd get another (in an actual pub at least) felt rather melancholy. I'm glad the missus is taking it better than me and is supporting (and distracting) me, because I'm finding it difficult to deal with. I know the advice is to stay in the house, but I can't do that as it rams the situation home to me. Thankfully I drive everywhere and I intend to pass this thing by driving to places that are more-or-less empty. I've got tentative plans to go to the seaside next weekend just to look at the sea and see if I can find an open chip shop.

I was going away to Rome this weekend with a lassie that changed 3 weeks ago to krakow, which changed 1 week ago to Edinburgh and finally changed to my house and she's asleep on the sofa right now haha

So I had my mum over two weeks ago for an early mothra day so we'll glad we did it early

I'm 47 with an underlying heart condition and get my fly jab, so I'm vulnerable

Also a bus driver and my company are still providing a full service so I'm gonna get it but in my brain I reckon I should be okay as from what I've read it seems to focus on breathing issues and heart disease and I have neither, just a wee wonky heart, so all going well I may be okay haha

We'll be OK, we are all in this together. If anyone gets panicky, worried, please don't hesitate to PM us. Let's look after each other with this.

I might seem a bit blasé blah about this but that's just the way I am, it helps me, I am actually taking it seriously.

I'm just trying not to be affected by the selfish greed of some folk. I need to get over it, it's making me a tad bitter and angry about humanity in general.

Yeah, we should all be helping each other out in this, it's not like there's actually a food shortage, we don't have to resort to cannibalism yet.

Just called my mum, she has hardly stopped so doesn't know (like me) how people can be bored at home. She HATES being stuck indoors but has found a mountain of work to do, mainly gardening in her back garden and re decorating her living room. She ordered an exercise bike to keep off the pounds which she is concerned about piling on with too much wine and cheese. Stepdad is 70+ so has been inside all week except today where he is taking the dog on a short walk. He hates the exercise bike and my mum is convinced he doesn't understand social distancing hence trying to keep him home safe as much as its driving her mad.

Both have had cancer treatments in recent years, my stepdad is on continual meds and my mum was due for a top- up operation on Tuesday but not only did they cancel it at short notice but they told her the first one did not work so now that's another concern as they stopped her previous treatments saying it was a success back in august last year.

The dentist that was self-isolating after a trip to italy is back next week, but 3 more dentists are now off, husband and wife who I think had a confirmed case in their family so they are all now off with their kids, and one guy who commutes to Europe on weekends is now stuck there. At the other practice I work at one has had to cut her day in half due to child care but is opening up another half day to help. Last minute on friday rules regarding hygienists changed and one has completely cancelled her books as her mum is now living with her who is high risk (hygienists are currently high risk of exposure so now only allowed to do hand scaling as much as possible).

Nurses are half here or there, its only a matter of time before we have to just see emergencies only or close. My Friday was spent constantly answering the phone to cancellations and calling over 70's to check they were ok to come in. Its been hell. I'm scared for my parents and some staff and only a bit scared the fact I will probably wont get paid next month if we close. Not to mention our wedding and honeymoon and my dress fitting probably being cancelled.

What a ****ty year, just stay safe you guys, keep healthy and wash those hands!!!!

If any kids have maths problems they need help with, give me a shout. We're on spring break right now, then back and straight to online, which is going to crumble quickly as they (the board) haven't paid for the good stuff, just the basic versions.
