It's interesting from a tech point of view, but wow what a Chonker, you wouldn't want to use it as a daily driver phone. It kind of reminds me of them rugged CAT phones that people on building sites use, i wonder if removing the LED camping light would make it smaller or if it's there to fill in empty space.

Yeah, while the projector feature is good and surprisingly effective, the phone it too big for a daily device. It's more of a device you'd take out on the road while camping or something like that.
The main bulk is taken be the laser projector and the whopping big battery. The camping light really doesn't take up much space.

I stand by what I said. Garbage. It has the market it has for a reason.
Somehow, I seriously doubt that premium device OEMs (Apple, OnePlus, Sony, Google, Samsung, etc.) will be bothered by this.Last edited by Nu-Eclipse; 13-03-2024, 16:03.

Go learn about smartphone SoCs.
So for starters, that's not a low-tier handset or even a low-tier CPU. Sure it's not going to keep up with an iPhone 15 pro or the latest S24 Ultra, but it doesn't cost anywhere near what they do. It certainly can do more than a low-end budget/sub £200 phone could:
Geekbench 6 results: [Ignore formatting, some scores I posted, some I had to type manually]Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 2,091 SC Score 5,511 Multi-Core Score 8848 Tank 3 Pro 1239 SC Score 3830 Multi-Core ScoreGoogle Pixel 8 Pro 1,163 SC Score 2,745 Multi-Core Score
Galaxy A 14 (an actual low-end or budget handset) 219 Score 1001 Multi-Core Score
Antutu CPU Score:
Galaxy S24 Ultra (S-8 Gen 3 OC 12/1024) - 442237
Galaxy S24 (E-2400 8/256) - 403971
Google Pixel 8 Pro (Tensor G3 12/256) - 274129
Galaxy A34 (M-1080 8/256) - 164758
Galaxy A14 5G (M-700 4/128) - 148967
512GB onboard storage (and expandable) and 16/18GB RAM are not configurations you would find in low-end handsets either.
More performance numbers and details here
Performance wise it is nearly holding up overall to the Pixel 8 Pro and even outperforming the Tab S9 (Though granted it has a smaller screen)
The cameras don't seem to be amazing, but they still appear more than capable enough from the samples I've seen. For the price you would likely get a better camera system in a competitor if that was more important, but photographers are not the type of consumer this device is targeting.
Again, I'm not claiming this is a premium device with high-end specs but it's a far cry away from being just the 'garbage low-tier handset' that you seem to mistakenly think it is.
No, it won't appeal to the masses, and it's not going to have Apple or Samsung quaking in their boots, but it's nice to see some manufacturers trying to do something a little different (Though not entirely new either), especially with how boring the yearly upgrades from Samsung and Apple have really become this past few years.Last edited by Ouenben; 13-03-2024, 19:23.
