Ex-president, whose Senate impeachment trial will start in two weeks, reportedly planned to oust acting attorney general in bid to overturn election
Republicans are still likely to defeat the Senate impeachment trial, something no-one should ever forget as the rot continues to emerge from the woodwork. The latest is that Trump plotted to oust the Attorney General and they force Georgia Republicans to overturn the election results in the state.

John Cornyn directs threat to majority leader Chuck Schumer, regarding Donald Trump trial set to begin after 8 February
Trump might be gone but there are still childish Republican's willing to fight using the dumbest arguments as one Senate Republican says if Trump's impeachment continues then previous Democrat Presidents should also be impeached.

Fauci on What Working for Trump Was Really Like
From denialism to death threats, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci describes a fraught year as an adviser to President Donald J. Trump on the Covid-19 pandemic.
"It was always, 'A guy called me up, a friend of mine from blah, blah, blah.' That’s when my anxiety started to escalate."
"I would try to express the gravity of the situation, and the response of [Trump] was always leaning toward, 'Well, it’s not that bad, right?' And I would say, 'Yes, it is that bad.' It was almost a reflex response, trying to coax you to minimize it."
"We would say things like: ‘This is an outbreak. Infectious diseases run their own course unless one does something to intervene.’ And then he would get up and start talking about, ‘It’s going to go away, it’s magical, it’s going to disappear.’"

So, Trump was a complete clown. Meanwhile the sky is blue and the ocean is wet.
We knew this, they knew this, they still allowed him to carry on for 4 years.
As I said previously in this thread, over the next couple of years we're going to find out just how bad Trump was - and it'll be far far worse than anyone suspected during his "presidency" (and I purposely put that in quotes).Last edited by MartyG; 25-01-2021, 14:05.

It's a really interesting article, Martino, because Fauci talks about how he never compromised on what he thought was right scientifically, even when Trump told him to be more positive, Trump's aides tried to sideline him for disagreeing with him and even after him and his family received death threats to the point where he opened a parcel with a powder inside that needed a hazmat team and an FBI investigation.
He's also more diplomatic in his responses than the outgoing President.
You make it sound like he's an enabler, when he's not.

There are consequences for bringing dozens of frivolous lawsuits and no longer having Trump protection, as Giuiliani finds out: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...wsuit-election
