It looks like they're determined to open up on 19th July regardless of case numbers (which based at the current rate of increase will be between 90-120K a day at that point). Still, who cares so long as you can get a Pret sandwhich?
Just because the hospitalisations are lower, doesn't make this a sensible plan.Last edited by MartyG; 28-06-2021, 17:07.

Javid double downs about the 19 July and his Shadow counterpart warns him about his predecessors endless walkbacks

Javid, as an ex-Banker who was around in the whole sub-prime market collapse, I think probably isn't massively concerned on the health part of his new role.

I love the fact that we have been Holiday, holiday, holiday & today practically the whole of the EU went " Eh no thanks, you're coming nowhere near us"
I tweeted at the weekend that the appointment of an ex chancellor into the position of health minister is just massively going to undermine & ignore all the medical advice & be all about opening up again to save the economy
I assume todays gigantic figure will also include the figures that were delayed yesterday?
So granted it's ludicrously high but it might not have been quite so scarily high had they not ballsed reporting yesterday

Scotland's figure might be following the trip a lot of them made darn sarf for the football, that was almost 2 weeks ago so allowing for incubation time could have an effect?

An investigation is looking into if the camera that caught Hancock was repositioned on purpose to catch him out... of course you can't be caught out if you're not doing anything in the first place.
The number of pupils off school due to COVID has risen by 136,000 in a single week to a total of 330,000 - a rise of 66%.
