They can shove the tv license either the current system or via council tax. I’ve cut my arial off the roof so good luck billing me. As for their enforcement goons they have had their implied right of access revoked from my property.

Problem is that round here the health services are completely (deliberately through austerity) stretched and we've got a situation where two thirds of the ambulance fleet might be sat queued up at the hospital for hours waiting to be seen. Add that daily scenario to one where they get a few hundred extra cases - daytime drinkers who passed out in the street at noon, silly old fossils in big coats going out to buy cabbages because they "always buy cabbages on Mondays", a broken down train full of people who got stuck on it four hours with no air con and water... then we get a situation where somebody having a regular old heart attack or get in a car crash end up dying because they were too busy dealing with the rest. Would be useful if someone out there had a strategy to figure out what to do.
Anyway, I bloody love weather like this. Just had an ice cream and a full-fat can of Coke. Superb.
I miss UK summer. Right now it's humid as hell here. I'm wet and it's not sweat!

The next round to see who will be voted off the island happens today. Tbh if Tugendhat goes with anyone but Mordaunt his arguments were fairly fos as there's no way Truss or Badenoch in anyway represent a 'clean break'.

Met Office chief meteorologist Neil Armstrong has a helpful explanation of what the chances are of the UK reaching 40C today and what this would represent:
Even higher maximum temperatures will develop tomorrow with a 70% chance of somewhere in England exceeding 40°C. A value of this level would exceed the current UK record by 1.3°C or more. This is akin to a marathon runner shaving 20 minutes off of the current record.
What other pointless comparisons can we think of?

Yet another instance of the Tories allowing Johnson to paint a horrific picture of life in Number 10 as he prioritises propping his failed premiership up to the bitter rancid end. Plus, his punishment is arguably a boost to Sunak - the opposite of what he wants. Failing to the very end.

Checked the 11 day forecast and thankfully from around 1am in the morning it's around 20 degrees the entire way through. Nearly out the other end of it...
