Indeed, it could be a thirsty monster. But if driven sensibly it wasn't so bad.
I loved that car but the worst thing about the one I had was the wheel spin when starting off from a stop. It was very easy to spin the wheels for a second if not paying attention to the revs.

I've had differences of up to 10p a litre on V-Power between them all in a single day, which would put me out £6 a fill.

It's actually got to the stage where I'm thinking of just ringing round to ask the price first.
Ah, that's the same here as well. The main Fort court sign would say bugger all, only when you got to the pump would you know the price. Thankfully the difference wasn't ever that major. Just a yen or two.

I mean, they're kinda right in what they say there - inasmuch as if Boris was to step down, right now, who would lead the party? There's no-one. Sunak's a joke. Gove's a joke. Reese-Mogg is a joke (and frankly I'd prefer Boris, crazy though that seems). They're all terrible but it's the-devil-that-you-know.

If Johnson is truly the best option out of the entire party, the whole lot should just go drown themselves in a septic tank. Imagine being less competent to lead a country than that useless chump.

The problem in our media-driven society is that it's not who's good, but who is electable. Boris, for all the crap things he's done and the ineffectual lead he's had, has spent decades cultivating a public image. All those appearances on Have I Got News for You and so on.

Dilbert put it well, years ago, when Dilbert gets loads of great job-offers after a major screw-up at work that embarrasses his company - "you're more employable as a famous screw-up than a capable nobody".

To be clear, this isn't an endorsement of BoJo. It's just that I understand why the Tories are desperate to keep him, because getting rid of him is basically throwing the election.

Discovered people have started calling the juibilee celebrations platty joobs & it's cringeingly bad but i kind of like it too i feel dirty when i say it.

A monkey flinging its on crap at a wall chart of things to get done would be more effective than the current government.
