I'm beginning to wonder if some of the Tory MP's want their own party to get wiped out at a GE now. It might be bad for them but it would also a complete gutting of the party event and allow the ambitious up and comers to finally break through the morons at the top now to present themselves as a New Tory restart for the party. It's something that's going to happen anyway so they might be thinking that their best mid term approach is to prevent Truss and co making the party unelectable long term.

I have friends who are pretty right-wing but even they, at best, see deportation plans as "a necessary evil", but "evil" being the operative word as none of them see it as a good thing.
