CoE is weird. Religions are made up enough, but then someone decides they don't like the rules so make themselves head of the church and ordained by God. Thus all future monarchs are burdened with a responsibility passed only by blood / genes.

Welcome to religion, where nothing whatsoever makes sense but your supposed to believe it all anyway, because: faith.

Yeah; as a kid I grew up in Catholic surroundings, so there was always this idea that the CoE was weird because they just unilaterally decided one day that the King of England should be the head of a religion that originated in the middle-east.

But of course, even Catholics joke about how the Pope is apparently chosen by god (the Papal Conclave is just the means by which this happens) and god has, for reasons best known to him, mostly picked Italian men. God picked Israel as the place to send his son and Judaism as the religion under which he would be born, but for the next 20 centuries it's the Italians who knew what was what, apparently.

Also don’t forget that Jesus factually turned white according to many white men, despite being born Jewish, in the Middle East.

You say that but I hear in a few years time the Church is going to retcon him as being born in Merano, Italy during a wine festival

My niece goes to a Catholic Primary and it sounds like the front for a weird cult. She’s going on about sin and who won’t get to heaven and all sorts of weird stuff that she shouldn’t know about as she’s only six or something. Should be going on about computer games and watching The DJ Kat show or whatever kids do nowadays.

I think about this sometimes. I'm sure most Southern states would take aim if Jesus was on their lawn.

Yeah, no six year old should know who is getting into heaven or not. Only the pope should know that. Or maybe bishops. And obviously their administration staff because I guess it would be hard to keep it from them. And I’m guessing none of that staff are six years old.
