Some online pressure from reactionaries has affected things. The recent Dead of Alive Xtreme games haven't come west and it's specifically because, their publisher has said, that the social climate in the west isn't right for them. But people on Twitter are ultimately powerless; if Team Ninja believed there was money in releasing them, then they would.
Plus, I'm aware it's the principle, not the specific example... But I always hated Roald Dahl. Even as a kid. Always thought it was this weird whimsical rubbish. I like some of the messages in it, and how those were not the norm for kids' fiction (e.g. how in Matilda, one of the main themes is that, contrary to most media telling you otherwise, you don't have to let your family ruin your life and you can leave them and form your own family if you so choose, and you shouldn't feel bad for doing that), but something about it always bugged me. I was a bigger fan of Redwall, which is probably next up on the block for seeing revised versions (haven't read them in >25 years but I'm willing to bet they're colonialist or something).
