There just seems to be this split in America where one portion think owning guns is their God-given duty and another section that sees the harm they do.

I watched Pulp Fiction the other day and Googled what the gun was that Bruce Willis finds in his apartment and one link took me to Reddit where a post from a few years back said it was being sold at auction.
However, clicking through to the group gave me a glimpse into gun-owning culture.
In the same way other groups have in-jokes and formats (banana for scale or have you skated with them), loads of these gun owners were presenting their guns balanced on the barrel.

There's just this separation between linking these purchases and their intended purchase.

Realistically, this will never be resolved and you just have to accept that life in America includes the risk of you or your children getting shot like living in Australia risks a spider bite or Japan has earthquakes.

They seem to be regressing, too.

the ****ing Simpsons did an episode on this exact subject where marge trys to ban itchy and scratchy for being to violent but then gets dragged into a campaign she dosent agree with when they try to ban Michelangelo’s David from being exhibited in springfeild because its depicts the male form nude.

There's nothing that golden era Simpsons doesn't have the perfect take for.

Conservatives in the US have become so radicalised at this point it feels like there's no hope for many of them. Years of elected officials dogwhistling or outright endorsing conspiracy theories has melted the brains of many Republican voters, who see bogeymen around every corner. Teaching Michaelangelo's David = school is sexually grooming kids.
