Every time I read about this **** I feel like Mugatu at the end of Zoolander:
No, I don't condone the Hamas attacks, nor do I wish death on Israeli civilians, but I'm sick of the world turning a blind eye on the rest of it.

Italy has announced a Rwanda style deal to ship out immigrants to Albania - the EU is not happy
I had a friend who lived in Malta who said that refugees were a regular sight, either passing the island, or using it as a stepping-stone to Italy, because of how Italy reaches out into the middle of the Med.
I'm sure the Italians are a bit miffed when the likes of landlocked Switzerland complain about their handling of refugees, when they don't literally have people turning up on beaches. It's like when people complain about "defensive architecture" designed to prevent homeless people sleeping outside city offices, when they probably work-from-home in a nice house and wouldn't tolerate a homeless person sleeping in their front yard.
Obviously though transporting people en masse like this is bad, same for the Rwanda plan. But the EU can't just be "not happy" about it; they'll need to help to fix it in a "we're all in this together" manner.

Is a Gaza thread of its own not allowed ?
6000 of our children , children - brutally murdered or under rubble too long to be alive.
I don't get the pretending to be some upholsers of international law. These were the White Powers as they called one another who invented carpet bombing civilians.
Netanyahu calls us in Gaza 'Amalek' , some nutter Torah story encouraging the slaughter of all 'infants and sucklings' . Herzog called us all terrorists . Israeli and American we very day people alike are regularly cheering the death of babies online. Israel's literally prosecuting a medieval siege and cutting off civilians from water and food and all the white governments are straight up yeah that's fine.More then 10k of us dead in less than a month. Various US Republican officials have told Israel to 'finish them' and 'flatten Gaza'. Everyday Israelis are all over every kind of video service calling for the murder of actual Palestinian babies until every single Palestinian is dead. Imagine, for just a moment, a Muslim calling for the death of babies.
FFS a ceasefire is a dirty word now. Keep bombing civilians. Keep killing kids. Don't say say ceasefire though. This world makes no sense.
Why just pretend at it . International law means nothing. The White Powers excuse everything they and their ally do no matter how heinous, just as they did before and during WW2. Why even bother with the pretenses . Just be open about what you are.Last edited by Enoshimalove; 08-11-2023, 10:53.

But just like every other right-wing party they simply stoke fears and point out to "their" numbers. In the meantime, hospitals in Como (Italian city right on the Swiss border) are seeing their staff syphoned by Swiss hospitals; they pay around €2.5k, around twice the pay in Italy but that won't be enough for someone living in Switzerland (rent alone could be €1.5k).
And of course the SVP is against having cross-border foreign workers.
Swiss in general have a very peculiar way to see thing, it's never their fault. A few years ago an Italian train derailed in Lucerne (nothing major, just a delays) due to a misaligned track near the station, but of course it was the Italian train's fault.
The company I work for is at least 50% foreign workers (out of nearl 2000); my department has probably 2 Swiss people out of 100. And every time we open a position we never receive a single application from a Swiss, and right-wing parties always castize the company for not having enough Swiss workers.
Eh, sorry for the outburst, but living in being a foreign worker really changes your perspective on a lot of things, you try to behave better than regular citizens but you're always the scapegoat for everything.
