Absolutely Bricking It

A little side thread to contain the discussion, very simple question for all us Lego and other brand brick collecting folk on the forum.

As things stand, what sets do you have in your collection?
Which are built and which are boxed in your backlog pile of unbuilt shame?

#2
Does it have to be Lego? As Blobcat and I have a pile of boxes of Gunpla.

It looks at us. And judges.

I have:

Saturn V
Luke Skywalker X-Wing (original style, not the recent one)
VW red Campervan
Ford Mustang
Optimus Prime
Bonsai tree
Roses, tulips and flowers (all three in a single vase)
Various Speed Champions (maybe 12/13?)
Two Overwatch Mechs

I don't have any in boxes. If I buy it, it's because I want it and build it straight away.

We're halfway through building the Lupin Diagon Alley that we got my son for Christmas.
In my defence, we thought it was genuine when we bought it off a friend.

I have an Optimus Prime kit and some other Gundam kit squirrelled away, but thankfully not many!

This is quite a hard one to make a full list for, not so much because of the volume but the very long historical backlog in building causes fuzziness which is why this year I really need to get these sorted out finally.

X-Wing
This one is built and standing upright on its four rear thrusters in a cabinet

Disneyland Castle
The small scale one that comes with a little Mickey, sitting in front of the X-Wing

Millennium Falcon
The standard one, not built though

Millennium Falcon Solo
The white Solo version of the same ship in the same scale, not built either

Ecto-1
The Lego Ideas version, built with LED's installed

Ecto 1: Answer the Call
The same scale 2016 version which is also built with LED's and sitting with the other one as part of a partially built diorama display

Ecto 1A
I picked up an incomplete Lego Ideas second Ecto to customise into the Ecto-1A. A reasonably amount of work has been done on it including some of the remodelling on the roof rack and full decals but it's still missing some pieces.

Ghostbusters HQ
Only partially complete and the first set I started several years back so my biggest offender. Just kept slipping off the radar so it sits as half the GB diorama display with the Ecto 1A in the entranceway of the mostly built first floor.

Jurassic Park Diorama
The side on one of the T-Rex versus Alan scene, built and displayed on top of a drawer unit on the landing

Ecto-1 Afterlife
The larger Technic scale set, built and sitting on the third shelf in the cabinet beside...

Optimus Prime

The scale isn't right for side by side display but never the less Optimus is in vehicle mode

DeLorean
Finally finished building this one into its BTTF2 form last night. Once a home is found it will be displayed with Cosbaby scale models of Doc and Marty. I might get an LED kit for it at some point.

Tardis
Built and in the cabinet along the X-Wing and Disney Castle

Super Mario Diorama
Not built, it's a set designed to be Peach's castle with a little touch of Mario Kart mixed in, I ordered some character models from a US brand of bricks where they'd made better quality, more recognisable Mario character models too.

Batmobile
The Batman version with the light up engine at Technic scale, not built

Batmobile 89
Also not built

Disney's The Haunted Mansion
The little model set Lego did that is the small scale matching the Disney castle, not built

Sonic the Hedgehog
The Green Hill diorama, built in the cabinet, curious if any of the rumoured 2023 Sonic sets includes a second level design

There may be one or two more but something Indiana Jones based is all I feel I'm missing now

My daughter has bought me the Hungarian Horntail from Harry Potter for christmas, it's my first lego set in my whole adult life. I haven't built lego for at least 35 years so it will probably be a little challenge for me.
I hope to get started on it this week sometime.

I've owned the Lego NES set - this one:

Since Christmas 2020. We got a puppy a month later and constructing this delicate object with many small parts at the same time seemed a foolish endeavour.

The box is long gone, destroyed by the dog at the time, but the parts remain safely sealed in their plastic bags. Need to get round to it as it'll make a cool ornament

I've got the original Lego Black Seas Barracuda that I keep meaning to build, but I'm currently missing a few bits for it, so should really get those sourced and build it again.

Best place to buy spare peices?

For my individual pieces I used a mixture of Bricklink and ebay, the cost can mount quickly so it often seems easier to go cheap and bulk for fairly standard pieces on ebay and then Bricklink for more specific ones

Picked out the Mario diorama as the next set for building.

I've got, built, and frequently play with (along with my son of course) the X-Wing from about six years ago (75218), the one that also comes with Biggs and his droid. I found it in our version of Boots' for €45.

I want the DeLorean, badly, but then I've also wanted the Mustang for about five years, so I doubt I'll end up with either.
