I thought the recent news of airborne transmission was understood to be misreporting, or at least massively over-exaggerated, and that the main transmission route remains close physical contact (predominantly very close, of a sexual nature) or contact with contaminated materials (fabrics, surfaces, etc.).

Sounds like Labour are going to sharply raise the rental prices of social housing.

Labour are going to start scalping every single thing they can to balance the sheets again, things are going to get real tough going forward, and they won’t ever go down or get better, that’s it.

It's perhaps the only truth the Tories told during the GE, always was coming and the real check will be where the money goes.

You make it sound like we haven't been in the grip of literal deliberate Tory austerity for the last decade-and-a-half.

You also make it sound like the Tories lowered taxes in that time (they didn't). But of course, one of them did massively fcuk working people's mortgages while trying to offer the richest people big tax cuts.

... no. It's a single point that has zero relation to either of those points. The Tories said that Labour would raise taxes and that's what's coming. It was always pretty obvious it was coming too, especially given Tory spending approaches over their 14 years, the point is that Labour insisted during their campaigning that they wouldn't and it was niaive of anyone to believe them yet they lied for PR's sake. It's in no way a defense of Tory austerity or their record on taxation etc.

As if anyone really is gullible to think there are any significant ideological differences between Labour and the Tories anyway. Both are authoritarian on social issues, neoliberal/pro-austerity on economics, and anti-European on foreign policy. Just that Labour has different window dressing for its policies because it relies on different demographics for its core vote. What we have now is basically the 15th year of the Cameron/Osborne austerity government.

You're being disingenuous and you know you are.

Again, The Tories have continually raised taxes over the last fourteen years on top of non-stop austerity THAT THEY IMPOSED.

You're now trying to make out that they should be applauded for something that they would highly likely done themselves had they retained power. Ridiculous. Fcuk that.

I'm not defending Labour duplicity here. It remains to be seen what taxes will actually be risen come the Budget and I will be the first to kick off if they rise taxes that they said they wouldn't like Income Tax VAT, etc.

See, we've done this dance numerous times before, as you have with other users in both gaming and non-gaming discussions. This is the point where the next few pages of the thread go round and round debating it and even worse, before clicking back onto the thread I guessed the nature of the response I'd get.

There's nothing disengenious about my post, it states clearly my position. But instead we're already onto dismissing what had been posted and inferring escalatory language to drum up a debate that wasn't being had.

It's been a few years of increasingly experienced or observed behavior as well. So, rather than go through the same tired cycle (and it is tired) of spending the next three to four pages being gaslit we'll keep things real simple.

Take my posts for what they say. If I suddenly feel like saying things the Tories are the second coming of Christ, that Trump is the saviour of the American way or anything else you can be damned sure I'll state it as such.

This isn't a roundabout anyone on here is interested in going around and rather than getting dragged down in what is frankly outright lying and overtly inferred opinion, it will instead get treated for what it actually is - a breach of the sites community rules and reported as such.

Or maybe I'm being disengenuous about that too?

They may hate each other, but they love that money. The dates also effectively confirm they're at Glastonbury 2025 as well

As far as “things will get worse before they get better” is just crap, they will get worse and stay worse, then get even worse for 90% of the population.

Inflation has been allowed to run rampant, and big companies have just used this as an excuse to rake in more profits, utilities especially.

Once they go up (and they continue to do so) they never go down again.

Couldn't give a sh1t about what you "observe", frankly.

Furthermore, I'll damn well say whatever I want to as well. Your lame disingenuous devil's advocate arguments on all parts of the forum are just as tiring and guess what? I'll keep calling them out as I see it. You don't like that? Tough.

It's also hilarious that you try to make out like you're some kind of big boss around here. What? Because you post a few topics on here and don't like it when people don't fall in line with your "my opinion is king" stance?? You're having a laugh. You're not the forum owner and you're definitely no boss of me. PLEASE get over yourself. Also, try following your own advice about taking people's posts for what they say if you want the same treatment. What you're not gonna do is try to dictate terms on a forum for free debate. Nope. Won't work here - take that sh1t somewhere else.

Threats as well? LOL. Report whatever the hell you want to. Couldn't care less.

Liz Truss was planning to scrap NHS cancer treatments during her brief stint as prime minister.
