I still think a lot of the public are far to easily Led and believe everything presented to them as hard fact, That fake conservative interview where a comedian was talking about how the energy crisis, was effecting her as she was paying a fortune to heat her horse stables, and that people dying in the cold as removing the weeds from the garden to let the flowers grow. That it could of been real and was mistaken for a real soundbyte by many shows how easy it is to spread false info.
The amount of memes and misinformation shared on social that where doing the round promoting the half truths and tabloid agenda in 2017 compared to today with stammer felt like their must of been someone behind it all producing and coordinating this stuff.

I think the difference in 2017 was the tabloids where foaming at the mouth in the height of Corbyns popularity, it was ten page hit pieces in the Sun and Russian hats on the BBC. I still remember that crazy news night where he said he wouldn't fire nukes first and he got an absolute kicking for not wanting to start a nuclear war and kill us all. Nothing surrounding him ever felt balanced and its why i still stand by the belief that if we had a fair unbiased press things might of gone differently in 2017.

Yup perfect analogy As a supporter of Corbyn at the time it was super frustrating, he knew what the press and the electorate would give him an absolute kicking on and he just doubled down on it, things like not getting rid of Diana Abbot after she made a complete fool of herself on multiple occasions and became a meme for the labor financial incompetency myth. they knew they needed to be rock solid on this and she just couldn't provide that image after all the mistakes. His soft policy's on defense won him no fans either.
Stammer seems to have worked out how to play the game, cosying up with the press creating decent attacks on the right issues and reminding everyone of the constant scandals. I don't think he will get the majority Jhonson got as theirs always die hard Torys who vote like their supporting a football team, but come next year i think we will finally have a different goverment.
Can a more right leaning Labour fix things who knows they cant be as bad the current goverment that's made up out of what feels like the dregs of a party that needs a long break to bring in new blood and fix the rot and corruption.Last edited by Lebowski; 26-10-2023, 14:24.

Yep, minimum 2 terms. For the entire first term the Tories will waste that entire time having every current bottom of the barrel, corrupt, career racist cabinet member clawing each others eyes out for leadership of the party. They're completely blind and closed off the outside of their own four walls and have literally no understanding of their situation. It'll take a second battering in 2029 for the party to begin to reset itself as something more moderate akin to the start of the Cameron years.

Problem with Corbyn was he's the only leader since Foot who could make a left hand turn driving on a roundabout in France.
When I saw him being interviewed he never had any details or plans or basically what he would do, a man without a plan basically and nothing that I can remember about the economy or finance feeding into the truth about Labour's poor history with the economy.
Starmer at least has been putting out some ideas, though recently he has been keeping shtumm, HS2 an example.
I think the public here prefer a government who is more centre but if given a choice of +10 right or +10 left they would go with the right and that's why the likes of Jezzer didn't stand a chance.
Starmer will get in and I do think he will handle the economy better than previous Labour governments, he'll be given the keys to the kingdom. He just has to make sure he doesn't **** it all up because he can't blame a pandeminc or Vladimir.

England to diverge from EU water monitoring standards | Rivers | The Guardian
England has been rocked by multiple cases of poor water quality standards and sewage dumping from our water companies but the Tories finally have a plan to reduce numbers of cases
They will change the rules so that they pay less attention to the problem and pick up on less of it

Hopefully more shorter films will come out as intermissions utterly suck.

The Government came to the conclusion that Lockdown 01 was necessary but waited 10 days to announce it
Boris Johnson’s former chief adviser denies contributing to an atmosphere of misogyny at No 10, saying he was ‘much ruder about men’
Cain and Cummings have asnwered questions citing Johnson's inability to make decisions as a key failing of the pandemic and how Johnson was against COVID measures including Lockdown, Johnson stating that in Jaws the real hero was the Mayor who refused to close the beach
One month before Lockdown 01 was initiated world leaders were planning out contigencies for the pandemic as it began to race across the hemisphere. Johnson took this time to race across the hemisphere himself - on holiday
A perception is cited that Johnson avoided dealing with the pandemic because he disliked dealing with anything he viewed to be bad news

Starmer holds his position on Gaza and Israel as expected despite opposition within Labour. He says MP's shouldn't make snap decision on whether Israel has committed war crimes, that Labour and the Tories are in line with each other on their stance on the conflict,
Meanwhile, as Lockdown 02 came to an end Johnson told his cabinet that he wanted to let COVID ravage the older population so that herd immunity would kick in faster for those younger. He also stated that he thought that claims of the NHS being overwhelmed were made up.
Dominic Cummings has now begun his interview
