But not all zero hour contracts are binding to one company exclusively, some exist because the role, company and employee require casual pick up shift work. If a company clearly has a position where there is an ongoing post then it should have set contracted hours. For casual work posts though you literally couldn't do it without a zero hours contract. For example, absolutely no restaurant, shop, business etc should have zero hour contracts but in contrast to that in the social care sector you'd have a national health crisis without them.
