As things currently stand, women and/or ethnic minorities have a far greater chance of reaching the top in the Tory party than they do in Labour. Considering how racist and sexist we know the Tories are, this is both ironic and absolutely belief-beggaring.

It is a narrative that simply has to change in the coming years for Labour.

Now that she's in the lead role the spotlight will take all but 5 minutes to shine the light on her and burn its way through. Chasing Reform will just cement their continued decline.

It is alarming that women and ethnic minorities attain to higher positions in Tory politics than in Labour, and I'm sure the Tories will continue to try to score political points on that. She's somewhat limited on choices, the most notable names being the ones avoiding senior roles because most likely they know the knives will go in her back in a year or two's time and they benefit best from distance.
