I know it's point-scoring when a Tory defects to Labour, but at some point Starmer's going to have to ask if this is the kind of person they want in the party.
Elphicke has a poor voting record of voting against human rights.
Especially annoying when Labour were swift to criticise the Lib Dems when a few moderate Tories who disagreed with Brexit moved to join them.

You could say that cynically, but bear in mind if you have enough defectors, you then have enough to force GE through a vote of no confidence. And just because they've defected, it doesn't mean they'd be the candidate for Labour in that seat. That's not how candidate selection works. In fact it's impossible for a defecting Tory MP to stand as a Labour candidate at this stage as they will never be able to meet the first criteria before the next GE.Originally posted by Neon Ignition View Post
